  1. I'm reading as much as I can find on the differences in classes and in the judging for each class. I definitely have a LOT to learn!
  2. The intermission music makes me want to do a tap dance.
  3. I’m glad someone else is watching this with me. I thought Leander and Westlake did superb! And I love Westlakes costume. Wow. I’m still fairly new to WGI. I really started watching it last year and now I’m hooked. I don’t really understand all of the different classifications and how that is determined. I also don’t know what they mean by “division.” Is that a location in the state, or another CG classification of some sort?
  4. Am I wrong or did Leander have the highest prelim score of the entire day?!
  5. Oh good, I'm glad it wasn't just me and my obvious bias.
  6. I'm sure they will be phenomenal as always, but Leander just blew me away! Okay, I know I'm a tad biased.
  7. Anyone else watching WGI San Antonio today? Good stuff!
  8. While I definitely agree that the shows are becoming far more difficult to perform and perfect, I don't necessarily think that is a bad thing. Just like technology, everything must change with the times in order to keep up. While it is frustrating at times to see the top bands obliterating the rest of the competition, at the end of the day, the kids in the non winning bands are JUST as capable of producing winning results as the top bands are. We just have to figure out what it takes to get there. Why hold the kids back by telling them it's not possible to succeed at a CTJ level when it obviously IS possible? I think that children (and adults!) will meet whatever level is expected of them. I also have not seen a reduction in the number of fans coming out to see the competitions. If anything, it appears that the numbers are rising. It's exciting to see what the kids put together year to year, and I think more and more parents (and alumni parents such as myself!) are going to see it. Just my 2 cents, as always!
  9. I'm sure you're right. I was thinking Reagan and CTJ were in the Northside ISD.
  10. So in Region 32, all of Leander ISD competes against all of North side ISD and only 4 advance to State. That'll be quite the contest. Vandy, Vista, Leander, CTJ, Ronald Reagan, Churchill...who else?
  11. Man that's all Greek to me. Does anyone have the Cliff Notes version?
  12. I didn’t think about having the design team fully on board so early in the season and how tough that might be to accomplish. I wonder how Johnson did it? Do they have one dedicated writer who only designs for them or what?
  13. You're not kidding. This was pretty kewl to listen to. How awesome it must have been for those kids!!
  14. I’m really curious to see if more bands will start their BOA seasons with the entire show on the field now that CTJ was so wildly successful doing that last year. Not to take away from the absolute brilliance of The Forest Through The Trees, because it was indeed brilliant and would have no doubt won all of the awards regardless, but I’m still curious to see if this will start a new trend of bands laying down their entire show early in the season. We shall see!
  15. Ohhhh, LISD SOUTH VS LISD NORTH! I love it! Perhaps we could have our own contest one day. Battle Of The LISD’s. How awesome would that be?
  16. Really? That’s definitely a change from what some CTJ moms told me at BOA SA. They must’ve decided to postpone it another year or so. Perhaps a non state year, if they even care about that sort of thing.
  17. Oh thank you, thank you! At least if you take it down, I still got to watch it one more time. I. Love. This. Show. So. Much!!!
  18. It's definitely going to be interesting to see each band's fall schedule come out!
  19. I'd love to see it again as well. It's a shame more of these amazing shows aren't available to watch online!!
