Yes, that is just terrible! Makes me feel sick for that poor band. You just have to wonder what kind of direction those kids are getting!

Okay that is just wrong. I blame the band director for that! How dare you bring those kids to that kind of competition and NOT PREPARE THEM!!!!! Stepping off my soapbox now. (BUT COME ON!).

I actually got an email from Tim Snyder, the president of Box5 streaming. Yeah, he and I are big buds evidently. I mean he emailed ME personally, right? My hubby and I plan to drive there next fall when Leander and TeamTexas goes back to Grand Nats but we are going to make a bit of a vacation out of it this time.

My hubby and I are big Razorback fans. We keep meaning to get up there for that game every fall, but so far have not managed to do so.

Perhaps if we added a category for non Texas bands, they would feel more comfortable? I know it's TXBands.com, but we could definitely open it up to discussion of bands outside of Texas in at least one category surely! I would love to discuss Carmel, Avon, Broken Arrow and Tarpon Springs among many others myself. I do participate in the MFA forums, but like FloMoParent said, it is not well managed nor does it seem to get the traffic that we get here. It's a shame IndianaBands.com shut down, as MFA is a poor substitute for those parents!

Ha, that IS a great story. Makes me feel a little bad for all the teams you guys play against, though.

I guess it will get figured out somehow, but I truly don't see any good days to postpone it to before the big contest on the 27th! I do think UT (Longhorns) has that Bubble indoor practice field, but I guess that wouldn't work because there may not be anywhere for the parents to sit!

Wow! Doesn't UT have an indoor football practice field down there off of I-35? Or did that get torn down...

I also hope it's warm enough for there not to be major tuning issues. I remember last fall we had a football game where the temps were down in the 40's and the band sounded VERY out of tune that night!! We need some more indoor stadiums. Come on Texas!

I wonder if Region 32 will even get to HAVE a decent day for marching at any point in the next 2 weeks! This flooding and rain is just out of control, and I'm getting the feeling that this is not going to let up anytime soon.
