so we can again note - for the 3rd time on this thread - a post magically dropped from 10 to 8 event though it was not listed as a up or down vote on the post prior to the drop this is the 3rd time it has been noted - and every time it was the same poster and was always a drop of the same program - different show while the poster, claims it is a type-o I assume that when the winner they are trying to drive will somehow get an call and an apology from BOA that a mistake was obviously made. this used to be a fun game - have a great night

and so the season begins - I got to hear CTJ last night perform the first half of their music on the pad before our alumni event. My new freshmen participated and I was surprised how pumped he was afterwards- and he was just as excited to head back this morning. I was worried about the shell-shock and if he was thinking "what have I gotten into" the music was WOW!!! with the visual components that are planned with the new uniforms and such - the Texas Teams will be a power in Indy, But as we say every year, BOA-SA will be a blood bath I am going to miss sitting in the VIP Box in SA after 4 years as an alumni parent, I now have to work the event with CTJ hosting it. is it September yet???

Jeremiah and Dan attending - now it is a party - I think this will be a great chance to share stories and Texas band experiences I am working on the #teamtexas shirts and will offer them to all 6 bands performing in Indy - at that time, I will extend and invite to those directors - I will finalize the details as we get the schedules for all the Texas bands but I spoke to the Westin Indy today. I have a suite that will entertain 40-50 with a bar and bartender - it has a direct view of Lucas Oil Stadium. keep in mind - we all came together via TxBands - as I say every year - be sure to make a donation to TXBands site - I am making my 2019 donation today - please do the same

I agree - the kids are giving it everything they have with a program that was provided to them - they deserve to be applauded for what they have worked to put on the field - show them some love

I am getting there on Wednesday - as we get closer and get some schedules we can make sure that we do not miss any Texas Bands (or any others that we are fond of and want to see) the Westin is close to the stadium and I believe some of the bands may be staying there. as we get an idea of the timelines, we can get a schedule put together - want to make it easy for folks to join the party - including our TXBands moderators. Maybe we can even get some Texas Directors to join the party????? time will tell

I do take issue with the constant criticism of the CTJ program - I have viewed this forum from 2010 as a guest. In 2014, when CTJ won their first BOA gold in Houston Finals, I read a post about how awesome it was that the Woodlands (then reigning GN champions) invited CTJ to their campus between prelims and finals - CTJ won their first gold in Finals and TWHS stayed to watch and cheer for the encore after the awards. - the comments posted where along the line of "CTJ did not deserve their win - The judges did not accept/understand the show - a real beating to an upcoming program. same things happened at the end of the season with CTJ winning BOASA and a UIL Bronze that year. over the past few years - it has continued - Last year after someone posted a video of the show from an early FB game stating that based on the show title, CTJ's show was a homage to the current president - lots of political comments about CTJ - that led to the director sharing what the real message of the show was. but PM's from the members did not stop - all year as SATXBandDad posted - do not label all CTJ supporters as thin skinned or sensitive. I do not hide who I am or who I support, and as I have stated many times - I do not speak for the CTJ organization on this blog. I speak as an avid supporter that believes in the program looking forward to the season and the run for GNATS

I would disagree with your term - "Desultory" as it is defined as "lacking a plan, purpose, or enthusiasm" - there was a great deal of all those qualities in the show that this group put on the field. while many fell that the CTJ 2018 show was a political homage to the current administration - of which it was not - everyone is entitled to an opinion. I will admit that I am biased. This is a program that has collected more BOA Golds in the past 5+ years than any other program in the state, currently tied for the most top 5 wins (8) in BOA SA as well as the highest score ever posted in what we can all agree is the most competitive program in the country. All coming from a program that just completed their 11th season. the definition of the term you used in reference to this program is an insult to the talented members of this organization that have created a legacy, and don so in a short period of time. Just my thoughts
