I think just making it to the state marching contest is an incredible honor. Not everyone get the opportunity to participate in that contest. So regardless of placement we should see it as a huge accomplishment.

Congrats to all the bands those that made the finals and those that didn't.  This was a difficult year for all the bands to get back into the routine of preparing and performing these amazing routines.  Hebron and Vandy seem to be peaking at the right time, and Vista seems to have peaked a couple weeks ago.  
As always, one one thing about band concerns me is the amount of financial dependence they cost which means bigger more affluent areas can support these huge shows outpacing the others.

Vista Ridge is similar, a bit more than 10 students difference but not a lot more.  Football has been painful for sure.

It will be weird not having Leander and Vista locked together.

Here is another reason I love Band so much and am very proud of the Vista Ridge organization this holiday season!
 
Earlier this year at BOA West Texas the Vista Ridge band performed after the Estacado Band, the Estacado band is around 30 to 50 members,   Vista Ridge (Students, Parents, directors, boosters) were so inspired by the passion for music that Estacado demonstrated that they had to do something for them.   Please see the attach news link for what was done.   Great story for this Christmas season!

Totally agree.  It will be interesting to see how it plays out next year.

LISD currently holds the championship for BOA, 6A, and 5A.   I wonder if they can keep the ball rolling.  Could Vista pull the double of 6A and BOA next year?  Who knows.

As a member of a neighboring district, we are SO PROUD of Wylie East!  We are especially thrilled with their placement in finals!  Looking forward to seeing great things from their band in the future!  Go Wylie East Band!  We will see everyone on the field next year!

Every band last night made it as far as they did due to hard work and a will to better themselves. To disparage any for being “complacent” is out of line.

Yeah watching that CTJ/Vista Ridge/Leander sandwich was one of the best band memories of my entire life!

I hope this doesn't happen! If it does, we'll be missing state my senior year, and 6a was a blast to compete at :/ I'm not really sure how this whole system works, but I can see us losing enough people to drop between this year and next year due to the usual moving around, as well as people who drop IB and have to return to their home campuses though 
Edit: I suppose fun to compete at isn't the right wording. I'm sure 5a would be a blast too, it was just fun to see everyone again three days after SA and be on the field next to Vista when they won and got swarmed :')
