    We stop at that Buc-ee's every year on the way home from SA. A few years back I was chaperoning and as the kids start filing back onto my bus one the boys was carrying a whole watermelon! It was the trumpet bus, naturally.

    Here's another hot tip: If you are attending, say, your school district's Festival of Bands, do NOT get up and walk out en masse after your school performs. Stay and watch and clap for everybody. Otherwise just know that I, and many others, will be silently judging the heck out of you and your school.

    I'm feeling more fortunate that our on-campus stadium is artificial turf and our varsity stadium is right across the street! It was a treat seeing our preview from up in the stands.

    They will definitely do the Silver Band show the first few games. They may or may not also do Turning the Tables. The directors will let us know ahead of time.

    I know I'm biased, but Lost & Found got me when they kicked into Amazing Grace. I shed a few tears at Area Finals and State Finals. Very manly tears, mind you.
