That one music judge was definitely wacko. I think Hebron is on another level musically right now, but needs to tighten up on the marching. Flower Mound is definitely performing better than last year, it's hard to find visual errors watching them. Super clean!

Not really. "Their way" would have been Keller not advancing. Keller can do better at state.

Glad Weiss got what they deserved. Dripping Springs did very well too.

So I'm thinking Flower Mound, Hebron, Vista Ridge, Vandegrift, and Reagan fight it out for the medals.

I've been very hard on them this season, but I'll gladly eat crow and say how much Round Rock has improved since Austin. Congrats on advancing to state! Not something I could say when I went there, the kids should be extremely proud

They've kinda fallen off the BOA scene, but they play and march very well. I think some new direction design wise could help them return to being consistent regional finalists. I had a feeling they would pull off an upset tonight.

You can thank the Round Rock Band Boosters for posting it But I'll gladly take the chocolate on their behalf.

Then they get beat by those groups. It's about winning the war, not the battle. And the war in this case is state. CTJ understands that and will continue cleaning.

I think they'll be fine. It's not anywhere near as dirty as 2016, and they play very well. I'd be very shocked if they didn't advance.

That Broken Arrow entrance was epic to say the least. Very fun show, probably the most straightforward theme they have done in a while. I wish they didn't have the capes the whole time, kinda hides how well they march.

Agreed, the improvement from Austin was substantial. Night and day difference.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a band the size of Weiss play and march as well as they do. Anyone who complains that only big bands can be good need to learn a lesson from this group. Pure quality.

It's the theme of their show haha. There are no actual black holes at the stadium... as of now.

Another interesting note is how the three highest scores for 14th also had the 3 highest scores for 1st. I wonder what the average of all the finalist scores in those years looks like in comparison.

They almost certainly would have won, yes. Scores can be an interesting thing. Also I'm not sure if CTJ would have beat Carmel had they gone. It was definitely possible.

I thought it was a little too safe of a show, even for Marcus. The marching also wasn't quite as perfect as it usually is. I haven't seen them yet this year, so I have no idea if their fall is like everyone says.

Geez, enough with the Whataburger hype. They haven't even won a contest this season. Super overrated.

I don't think soloists count that much if anything to the music caption. They're more a music GE element, with a better performance earning more effect.

I wouldn't count out Hebron or Leander on that music caption. Vandegrift sounds great, but not quite as good as last year.
