PenguinGuy Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Very curious about where McKinney north placed, the crowd seemed to love it but the judges placed them way lower than i expected Quote
Tubalord11 Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Well, it seems Cedar Park won't be going down without a fight! I think the bottom half is scheduled really good, with Rouse and CP going back-to-back, Forney, and then Leander and Wakeland going back-to-back. We get what will most likely be the battle for first, and then the battle for second. Congrats @clarinetistkai05 on 5th, can't wait to watch yall's run tomorrow, will be a super exciting 5A finals comp! gregorydf01 1 Quote
Popular Post ValleyBandFanatic Posted November 7, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 7, 2023 Wow, the level of toxicity is the highest I’ve seen here. Can’t we all just celebrate the hard work EVERYONE has done? At the end of the day if the kids had fun through the entire season, then what else is there to fight about? We are here to celebrate Texas Marching band, not be sore losers/winners. Think about all the other bands who weren’t fortunate to be at this comp. They will gladly take your preferred schools place if you aren’t happy with it. Be grateful, and be happy. Push others, not drag them down! Also why can’t people be happy for each program. It’s such a huge accomplishment to make state and every performer did absolutely amazing! We should be proud of each and everyone of them. Popular Post The_Synth_Queen Posted November 7, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 7, 2023 I’ve noticed a lot of nastiness and mean spirited comments recently. That makes me so incredibly sad. Marching band should bring us together under the common love for the sport. We all care so much about how our and our children’s bands do, but that shouldn’t give us an excuse to tear down each other or other programs. We all need a refresher on etiquette. Everyone in every band did great today, and we should be acknowledging that. Congratulations to all those who made it to state, and good luck to all those who made finals. I’m excited to see what comes tomorrow! ElectricTuba, yayband914, peshbandkid and 8 others 11 Quote

Many of them will share with other friends in the music community. So that's how quick summaries go out and eventually a copy of the page will go out. Theoretically they aren't formally released to the public until after finals. BandDad4 1 Quote

They get leaked super easily. All of the directors get the recap during their director’s meeting before announcements. I’ve seen them share the recaps pretty liberally before. Quote

Not sure why after prelims it's so important to hide the results from everyone. I know they say it may impact the kids but many of the directors tell the kids anyway. GradDad 1 Quote
TheSV-001Gamer Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Bouncing back on the topic of negative commments. Big reminder that while competitions are cool and all. UIL was made to give a student an experience they will never forget. An experience that pushes them to be their best no matter what sport. Marching Band is something that gives students a chance to be proud on what they have accomplished no matter how good their season went no matter how well they are, but giving something to look back on and give a show for every marching enthusiast to enjoy! While state contest is exciting we gotta be considerate of others! JazzRun 1 Quote

ValleyBandFanatic Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 I’m excited to find out how all the AREA G bands did in prelims🤔 Very competitive season in the Valley, A lot of bands down here historically take bragging rights seriously as motivation for the upcoming season (in a respectful way for the most part). Very much looking forward to next year already based on results! Quote
