And Forney’s! Forney is moving up to 6A next alignment because too many people are moving into Forney vs moving out (in all serious, love the new people, but it doesn’t stop me from making jokes about paying people to move out). I am sure Forney will be fine, but since this is my senior year, I won’t see how they hold up compared to the rest of the 6A schools Quote
That Bass 4 Guy Out Of DFW Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 dang, lots of schools getting big Quote

If that stays the same, we are talking about adding Forney to what is already a ridiculously deep Area B. 😩 Quote

Popular Post LostChoirGuy Posted October 6, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 6, 2023 Oh wow. Area C keeps getting harder and harder. I know moving the prosper schools there just added a ton of depth and then the Wylie and McKinney schools and now Forney. Plus Braswell showed they are a force this year. Gonna be a tough fight for the final state spots at area C in the future. Tubalord11, celesta and JazzRun 3 Quote
northtexasshawty Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 I think Argyle has a good chance of placing above lebanon trail and making it to state this year based off of how both of their seasons are going this year. Quote

I agree, but area b takes 4 to state so I think they will both make it, as well as Wakeland and Lonestar Quote

Unfortunately, there are only 24 bands in total( if I remember correctly)so even if all get ones, they will only be able to take 4, but hopefully next year a new band gets added so they can take 5 CosmicLimbo 1 Quote
LostChoirGuy Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Just putting some of my thoughts down for finalists... Rouse Cedar Park Wakeland Leander Aledo Hendrickson Forney Roma Friendswood Richland Lone Star And then maybe Burleson Centennial, or Colleyville Heritage, or Lebanon Trail or Foster... ? Maybe McCallum? I feel pretty confident in the first 7 being finals locks but there are several groups I could see making it into finals here. BandMom07 1 Quote
J-Mike16 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I'm saying it now. Rouse is bringing the house down this year and will win State. I do think Cedar Park will be really close though in 2nd of course. Quote

I hope I can see their show in person at State! Quote

Definitely Burleson Centennial…Forney scored a 77.55 last weekend at the BoA Mid-Cities Dallas Regional and Burleson Centennial was at a 77.4 and right on their heels. Lonestar scored a 77.5. Burleson Centennial should definitely return to 5A finals in 2023. I doubt Richland or Friendswood make finals (no offense to their great programs.) Quote

BOA scores ≠ UIL Scores; Centennial is wonderful, but don’t count out Friendswood in finals. They are a wonderful program. Quote
clarinetistkai05 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Redoing my predictions: 1. Rouse 2. Cedar Park 3. Leander 4. Wakeland 5. Forney / Aledo 6. Forney / Aledo 7. Hendrickson 8. Colleyville Heritage 9. Lonestar 10. Friendswood 11. Burleson Centennial 12. Jack C. Hays / Foster / Richland / Roma BaritoneBallah 1 Quote

Also.... they're planning a Grand Nats trip for next year so I'm sure they want a strong showing here. Tubalord11 1 Quote

Yes unfortunately so… been that way for a while but it’s really hard for the other bands to get past the likes of Wakeland and Lonestar Quote
