2018 FloMarchies: "Best Tooter"

FloMarching is holding a type of Award Ceremony for the 2018 season, and there are a bunch of different categories. One of them is the "Best Tooter/s", which is basically the best soloist or duet or trio or whatever. The nominees are mostly DCI performers, but FloMarching actually put Vista Ridge's trombone soloist on there too! I know that myself, as well as many others, were impacted tremendously by Vista Ridge's show and all of their soloists, so I believe that this is a very good way to show our appreciation for this young performer.

 

Also, this trombone soloist is the only nominee from Texas, so we should show some #TeamTexas pride too and vote for him! There are no limitations for voting, so you can vote as much as you'd like.

One of my only complaints with their nominees for the awards is the lack of Prosper in the ‘Breakout Group’ category, especially considering that GrandNats this year was their first time performing in finals at ANY BOA event, not just GrandNats

Burleson Centennial was nominated for breakout group as well (in WGI) so there is another Texas rep.

I voted for the Vista Ridge trombone solo, and under Best Championship Show I voted for Avon’s WGI colorguard. Their Forgotten Circus winning winter guard show was extraordinary.

 

Too bad Best UIL moments couldn’t have been included in the poll. Few band moments will ever surpass CTJ and Leander swallowing up Vista Ridge when they broke ranks at State.

In a related follow-up... Gray Beasley, the Vista Ridge trombonist here, made 1st chair All State today. He's one of five All-Staters for Vista this year.
