I always wanna write a show but I just don't have the musical talent. Anyway, I thought it'd I'd make a post so we can all share what songs we'd play and what overall theme we'd write.

So mine would be about rejection and obsession. There'd be a female guard member following a band member at the start. The band member would grab the guard member's hand and shake their head and the guard member would fall to the ground very dramatically. Then the show would start.

Book 1

Für Elise by Beethoven

Starts with just piano, joined in by rest of front ensemble,

followed by several solos. Never going past the b section.

Book 2

Stan by Eminem

Female guard member picks up microphone and sings the

intro. Transitions into band smoothly playing Every Breath you Take by The Police.

Book 3

Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler mashed up with Für Elise. It feels like they'd fit well together. Female guard member sings along with band. At the "Every now and then I fall apart," it is very emotional and wins many awards.

Show ends softly with single euphonium solo. Guard member reaches for soloist but fails in getting him.

I'd call the show "Desire: Music for the Rejected."

I think of this a lot but I really think my dream show would have all movements of symphonic metamorphosis involved . Like throughout the whole thing . Idk what it would really be the theme or name . But I’d love a really good group like Hebron or something to do it and just wow myself . Every movement of that piece is so beautiful and would be incredible

I have had an idea in my head for months that I can't get out. I actually have started to write it, but I don't have any experience writing (nor had I ever even seen) a marching band score, so my arrangement isn't coming along all that well.

I found a really useful dissertation that explained some things and helped me out though. It is about 150 pages long and was written by someone at Ohio St. I cant find the link right now.

I don't know if I will ever be able to make it the way I want it :/

"Adagio for Tron" from Tron: Legacy. Would make a brilliant pre-show. A lot of the music from the movie could sound phenomenal on the field, even without the Daft Punk flare

Would be perfect for the likes of CTJ, Hebron, Vandegrift

Not exactly my dream show, but one that I think would be a lot of fun with a Scottish theme.

I would open the show with "Scotland The Brave"

I would throw a tour de force out next.
3 key signatures, 3 meters all playing together on the field at the same time. This could serve as solo features as well

Fanfare For St. Edmundsbury by Britten.

High brass: part 1 - Bass drums

Woodwinds: part 2 - front ensemble
Low Brass: part 3  - snares and cymbals

Percussion/Front Ensemble Feature: "Lords of Iron" by Antti Martikainen

Transition and close with Amazing Grace

Wanna know what'd be a great show? A restaurant themed one. Dress the cymbal line in tuxes and make them waiters with their cymbals as platters.

Very not well hashed out, but a show about fairy tales, but not the ones that we grew up hearing. I’m talking about the dark, disturbing Grimm Brothers versions. Red Riding Hood teaming up with the wolf to eat grandma, Hansel and Gretel being eaten by the witch, that sort of thing. Each movement is a different fairy tale. Probably would end up using a lot of Sondheim pieces.

I would to see a Spice Road show (to contrast with Silk Road which everyone loves to associate Scheherazade with). It begin with the grandiose overture from Lawerence of Arabia as a fanfare to start off with a grand sense of adventure. Then Spices, perfumes, and toxins I to emulate an adventure through the bazaar. For the ballad, the Damascus adaption of overture from Lawrence of Arabia, which has a very slow, almost sensual groove. Then ending with an aggressive spices, perfumes, and toxins III.
