Having seen Churchill at NEISD band night in September, it’s so amazing to see their progress! Such a cute show and the execution is great! Super happy to see the growth happening for them! Up in the stands on the 50. gotta say that there are some quality performances happening tonight!

Super impressed by McNeil! Glad to see they are carrying over the success they had from last year! Loved the use of the capes. Also the closer being 525,600 minutes was so good!

It was actually 9, 986,000 minutes from the office. Great choice!

Leander amazing performance! I heard such a great show! I’m no judge I’m just a fan but I have to say I don’t know what the director was thinking with those screens. They don’t do anything for the show but take away from the kids great marching. I don’t see the value it added at all.

Question on scoring, Vandy had an issue in finals where their Clarinet solo didn't play over the speakers (mic cracked at the begining) where would they get deductions for that? I assumed it would be music but they somehow won it with a giant hole in their show

It’s hard to assess errors vs ability in most cases. I would say despite the presence of an “issue”, the overall score was deserving of 1st. Despite this case being pretty obvious, most judges score shows in isolation and don’t understand what the show sounds like beforehand.

That makes sense. Their music is great, just didn't understand how the judges might score something like that. It was disappointing because that solo is awesome and I wanted to hear it in person

Judges do not take points off for mic issues.
