2025 BOA San Antonio Super Regional (Nov. 7 & 8)

@LeanderMomma do you know when the eagle experience typically goes on sale? Just want to make sure it doesn’t sell out (if that’s a thing lol). Saw the Ticketmaster ones are live. Also, if I get it, will I need to purchase a GA ticket for finals or is that included? Sorry have never been to San Antonio for boa so want to stay ahead so I don’t miss my chance

They are already on sale!  The San Antonio EE has never sold out before BUT with the new “finals only” experience they’re also offering this year, it’s feasible that they could sell out at some point. If you buy the entire EE, which I highly recommend, literally everything is included in that $325 price tag. Parking (in our own special section), meals, all tickets, and even our own entrance.

Does anyone know what "class" the bands will be in? There's been talk about some bands moving up from 3a-4a, but when I look at BOA Round Rock it still has them labeled under 3a. I have no clue if they'll be 3a or 4a.

Bands only move if there is a classification mistake. Roma was 3A one season and then got down to 2A to pick up the class championship at San Antonio. I can’t remember which year.

I know. I think it was last year we had like three from out of state. But I'm not 100% sure. Sad though, It was only Texas bands in finals

Still waiting on Broken Arrow to venture down. But in the meantime (or next year), I’d love to see Bentonville at BOA SA!  Maybe if they make finals again at GN this year, they will consider going to San Antonio!

Unfortunately when it comes to travel to contest, especially for outside state programs who have to make a choice between traveling to BOA SA or BOA GN, they're going to pick GN or another contest that's easier to travel to. To put the distance in perspective, even the closest cities outside of Texas, the round trip drive on buses would be a minimum of 10 hours, (5 there and 5 back) if you hit zero traffic there and back. 

Cost of travel, housing, etc. is just so high now that doing a single day even with short travel to a contest is WELL OVER the 15K mark when you start adding up the cost of feeding students, buses (don't get me started on charter bus costs), trailers or semi pulling if you're a program fortunate enough to have one, etc. When you're a group from out of state that number goes up exponentially due to the fact that you must have buses for more than one day, hotels, etc. Additionally, and I know this will come across a little pointed, but unfortunately there are a lot of staff at schools outside the state that have the mentality of, "Why travel all of that way and pay that much money to have no chance at even coming close to touching the top 30."

I know it's a bit of a fantasy world of mine but I wish there were some sort of an endowment, financial assistance, something that would help groups to travel, perform, and witness in person the artistry and performances from other bands around the country. It can be such a surreal and different experience for those kids from programs outside the state to have the opportunity to witness groups like Hebron, Vandegrift, Rouse, The Woodlands, etc. in person. If I ever win the lottery 🤣 you'll all know since BOA will be announcing a giant Donation and assistance program out of no where for groups to be able to perform at contests outside their home state - but I know I'm living in fantasy land 🫠
