Marcus was overrated. They were good but 2 points higher than Bell? Then again, I'm no judge. I just happened to love Bell's performance.

Oh wow. Aledo placed higher than Sherman. That changes things up a little.

Looks like Roma isn't performing anymore. Tonight is starting with Brazoswood at 7:15.

UIL this year. The entire season up to that day contained no wind. We rarely even had windy practices. Well, the wind on that Saturday UIL competition and just plain bad luck caused us to have extreme phasing and people to end up steps off of their spot. Long story short, it brought a sweepstakes deserving performance on Friday night down to a 1-2-2 the next day.

Bleh. Thursday games. We won against Trimble Tech tonight. That makes us 9-0 now. We have our district championship next week, I think. Then we'll most likely go to playoffs and lose our first game making our final season 10-1.

As far as making finals goes, I won't be surprised if all four Area B bands make it.

We were talking about getting shirts last year but it never went through. We couldn't come up with anything decent. The trumpets had the most amazing shirt though. It had the silhouette of a trumpet player and above it was "Kicking brass and taking names."

Yeah. It annoys me. Our school posted our Honor Band competition music and the one comment on Symphonic Movement was some idiot saying that we had basically no dynamic contrast. It's irritating to see a school give an amazing performance only to have it picked apart by kids who think they know what they're talking about.

In the finals results it says the Pearce got second. In the list of bands it shows two high schools. One named J.J. Pearce and the other named Pearce. I'm pretty sure they're talking about the same band. This leaves everyone who predicted J.J. Pearce to come in second counted as wrong.

The main reason is because I like music. I also like the competition. Not necessarily beating everyone else because we definitely don't, especially this year. But competition is always fun. The perks are that I get a PE credit and spend a lot of time with friends.

Well, it's nice to know that you thought about me anyway. I was at a friend's party last night and I was tempted to get on his computer to check the site for results but decided to wait it out and make myself endure the suspense. The second I got home, I dashed to the computer and was so glad that you all made it.

Well, I'm very happy with the results. Congrats to all of the bands that made it and thanks, Centennial, for making my weekend.

I actually need to rephrase that. They only take two from each Area from 4A. Thanks, though.

My etudes have been coming good. I've stepped up the practicing a lot this year. I hardly practiced last year and now I practice about an hour and a half after school and band rehearsal everyday. All-District is on the 27th of November for us. Region is on December 3rd and 8th. I'd like to make State this year but they only take 2 French Horns for 4A.

We won our game against Dunbar High School. It was something like 17 to 0. I think that makes us 8-0 now.

Just got back from a football game. We decided that this football game would be the last time we marched our show. We laid it out on the field and did pretty amazing. A nice way to finish off the show. Anyway, to those of you who have area competitions tomorrow, good luck. To those of you in Area B, more good luck. Also, Centennial High School, I really hope you all do amazing. You all are the most similar band to ours and, honestly, since we can't make it to State, I really want you all to do it. Good luck.

I think that's the way it is with French Horns in general. I've also noticed that all the French Horns that I've been in band with have either been really good or really bad.

I get called a band nerd by more people in band than our. We all know we're band nerds so if someone calls us one, we just agree. I've never had someone make fun of me for being in band though, so it's all good.

Yeah, there are a few good bands in that area and only two get to advance. Not to mention, Poteet is pretty much guaranteed because they're so good. That leaves one spot for the rest to fight over.

A hatbox? No. A tuba case? Maybe. Anyway, Area B is insane. It's been said before but I'm saying it again for the heck of it. I really can't wait to find out the results. I'm almost positive about the top 3 but that fourth spot is a wild card. I really think you guys are going to pull through and take it though. I hope you all do.

My predictions (random order: Area A: Saginaw Azle Fossil Ridge Area B: Centennial Aledo Sherman The Colony Area C: Poteet JJ Pearce Area D: Dripping Springs New Braunfels Hendrickson Connally Area E: No idea. Area F: Friendswood Dickinson LC-M Area G: Roma and I have no clue about the rest.

Yeah, I usually go with who I recognize or what other people have said if I don't know the band very well. Western Hills is doing pretty well this year.

That's an interesting conversion. Is that person doing well with the conversion?

I agree with the top 8. I would have to rank Western Hills 9 and I'm not too sure about 10. Either Heights or Stephenville.
