  1. Poly wasn't on the schedule yesterday to perform. Their band is extremely small so they may have just not done UIL this year.
  2. Southwest High School - Division II Just got the results from a friend. I guess marching season is over for us this year. I still can't believe we went from an amazing performance last night at the football game to a division II performance at UIL today. Oh well. At least I still have another shot in two years.
  3. I'm guessing that you all should be performing within the hour. Hopefully your band does better than ours did. Our rehearsal before went smooth. Everything was going great. Then, we take the field for performance and things go wrong. Complete disaster. In fact, if we get a 2, I wouldn't be surprised.
  4. Tomorrow's UIL. Time to start praying everyone.
  5. I don't think it matters too much. What bugs me is when we compete against a band who happens to be playing one of the same pieces as us but there arrangement is far easier. Oh well, it can't be helped.
  6. That's true. I forgot that everybody's region, for the most part, is this Saturday.
  7. So, anyone want to recap predictions for page 10. This thread is getting pretty huge.
  8. That would be nice. We still need two bands to get a 1 to make up for Denison and McKinney in addition to the one band that would top off the 19 to make 20.
  9. Yeah. Spirit store works. I'll have to find it before the announcements. But yeah. I officially hate the letter S. Actually, the sound. My heart always skips a beat when they announce a band starting with Sss.
  10. That's a pretty good idea.
  11. I was ready to die at Aledo. I've only been to two non-UIL competitions (DMI and Aledo) and at both of them the last band they announce that made finals always has to start with an S. At DMI, we were in the stands and the announcer goes, "And finally, Ss..." *our band takes a large breath* "ummit High School" *our band releases large breath*. At Aledo, the same thing happened and I'm pretty sure it was with Summit again. It happened again at Aledo when the announced Best in Class 4A. Saginaw. I swear I wish our school's name started with a Q sometimes. But yeah. I don't know how I'm going to cope with the announcement. I think I really may just walk down to the concession stands or something.
  12. When we're marching on to the field at Area, I'm going to be insanely nervous. Even worse than that, is when they announce prelims awards. The part that I may not survive is the Finals awards. My heart is going to stop when the start announcing bands and won't start beating again until we either make it or don't.
  13. We wouldn't get caught though. We're too smart.
  14. I'd gladly help with the sabotages.
  15. Here's something funny: Imagine if 14 bands make it.
  16. If 25 bands made it, I would have a heart attack. But yeah, to the guy who said that Area B is basically State without a few bands, you're completely right. I'm willing to bet that any band that advances from Area B will rank high in State finals.
  17. That analogy works perfectly.
  18. Someone please tell me what the people who did the last realignment were smoking.
  19. If Lake Dallas, Little Elm, and Carter Riverside can get a 1, then we still have a shot at four. Though, I thought Carter Riverside was good but I don't know if they were a division 1 good. If only I could remember the scores from pre-UIL.
  20. This sucks. Out of the 19 bands that got a 1 last year, two of them have already gotten a 2. At this rate, there's no chance that Area B will have four bands go to State.
  21. Did any of the bands on that list of 19 get a 2 so far? It seems like McKinney did.
  22. I will be rendered speechless if only 3 bands are able to advance from Area B. That would have to be the most unfair thing to ever happen in the millions of years that this planet has been around. Three bands from the most challenging Area ever? No way. Heck, six is hardly enough.
  23. Oh God. That's 19. That's not enough. I think Carter Riverside might be able to pull of a 1. They sound ok. Their music is easy and I didn't see their marching from the stands.
  24. Outside of Fort Worth ISD, I've only seen like seven or so bands. But Poly, Western Hills, Eastern Hills, South Hills, Carter Riverside, Trimble Tech, and North Side (though I've never seen them) are all part of Fort Worth.
  25. It would be nice if they could have a scoring system or something where bands that achieve a certain score at competition could go on to state. That would kind of destroy the competition though. Also, you'd have to have the same judges at each competition to make things fair.
