  9. I'm looking forward to everything about the Area trip except for the actual audition. I'm so freaking nervous.
  10. Lucky. Finale 2008.
  11. Cash, gift cards, Assassin's Creed, and Guitar Hero III. My friend, Amanda, also gave me a shirt and santa hat boxers from Aeropostale and a My Little Pony. The pony's name is Rarity the Unicorn. I think it should be obvious that the pony is my favorite gift.
  12. Yeah, that's understandable. But our school's orchestra isn't just bad because of that. They're bad because they don't try at all. They never used to have sectionals or any type of out of school rehearsal. The only practice they would have is the 45 minutes during they're orchestra period each day. This year, the new director tried to implement a one hour rehearsal each Monday but no one likes it. They think he's asking too much so a lot don't show up. Aside from that, they're are only four or five kids in the entire orchestra who actually practice on their own. It's just not a strong program in general. The new director is also teaching at the middle schools, though. Hopefully he can make a strong program one day.
  13. As far as I know, Area B is at Midland High School. Anyone else going?
  14. We had our concert tonight. It went well. Except for the fact that the four orchestras (three middle school and one high school) had to play. I hate to say it but they aren't very good. We had Don Hanna guest conduct us. He's a retired but amazing band director. I love when he comes to our school. Anyway, concert is over. Next semester we get Redline Tango. Yay.
  15. I don't think it's a sport. Like sax5warrior said, it's an art. Though, it may not be a sport, it's definitely just as hard, if not harder, than just about any sport. It requires just as much physical ability as most sports and it requires a lot more from a person than sports. It's also just as competitive.
  16. I'll most likely be doing Hunter's Moon by Gilbert Vinter. My lessons teacher played some of it for me today and I listened to the rest on a recording he sent me when I got home. I like it.
  17. Nimrod is amazing. I loved playing Enigma Variations last year. Rhapsody in Blue is another of my favorite pieces. I might have to go to that concert.
  18. Bleh, I figured it was something like that. Oh well, contests are fun nonetheless. I just wish there was a major competition for concert season other than the TMEA honor band that you can only participate in every other year.
  19. Yeah, January 5th for me in Midland, Texas. Not sure where, specifically, though.
  20. For our Christmas concert, we're playing: The Night Before Christmas by Randol Alan Bass (or as our director so colorfully puts it right now, The Nightmare Before Christmas). Concert Suite from the Polar Express by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard Christmas on a Snowy Night by John Moss
  21. Right after you hit create show, before you do anything, there's a little thing you can click that says "+14". Just look for it and you should find it. It's on the field.
  22. I made a breakdown of the region 7 contest: It doesn't include the ninth grade band.
  23. Nah, I had the 4th and last 4A position. However, I am pretty sure they take like 7 or 8 horns from our region to 5A area. We have district but I think it's only because all the Fort Worth schools really used to suck and most of the kids couldn't get into region. Now there are really only three schools from Fort Worth that gets kids into the region band. I think the district band is there so that the kids who can't make region have a chance to be a part of something
  24. Better than my first. Rocket to the Moon
