yay!! 200 clarinets duking it out on ONE night! i'm pretty much ready i think, idk, i suck.

maybe we could negotiate a trade of sorts..... today we read and listened to "A Movement for Rosa [Parks]" it was pretty cool, my first impression was that it would make a perfect marching show. it kinda annoyed a lot of us that the last chord doesnt resolve now, we have for our feature piece between: festive overture molly tempered steel rosa we've also been working chistmas stuff - the usual: sleigh ride christmas festival and something that was backordered..lol

we did our second movement at 110, double time last year...lol was intense - there were minimal holds. (like 2 four count holds) this year, our closer is only at 165, so that was a piece of cake.

haha "dinkism"....we have "burkisms" for both marching and concert season, some are kinda cliche: band is a dictatorship not a democracy! it would be hilarious to put up a sign over the band director's office door: "All hope abandon ye who enter here." haha we have a picture of him wearing a darth vader helmet at disney "stop playing [music] like freshmen!"

we took another read on Molly and Tempered Steel today, but.... burke was really angry at the bass clarinet and bari sax, they couldnt play some simple rhythm in Molly and then the bari guy messes up the solo-type part in Tempered steel.. idk but for a while, i loved molly on the shore, and then i hated it, but now i kinda like it again...clarinet song i guess - can't part with it

pasadena memorial plays westbrook on saturday at stallworth stadium, we will play: Pour some sugar on me Stacy's Mom and something else - we wanted to play Pinball Wizard or something, but the fish and sophmores dont have the music we'll do some sort of scatter show i imagine just like the MOB!! i highly doubt that we'll win, but if we do, awesome.

yes!! 2004 ayala, we did that show this year, same music, different drill, we all loved it. hypar effect!!! would've been fun to march that in front of a big crowd - we marched way early for area and shsu and boa houston, there was only our band parents and maybe a handful of other people. and for finals at shsu, we marched first, everyone wasn't back from dinner yet to come watch... we weren't even close to ayala's sound, but then again we only marched around 105 people this year, guard and battery included. last year we marched 87..haha

yeah, point taken cinco's parents are super supportive, some friends and i sat next to them at SHSU. nice people, they waved flags and everything

is that a guard girl on top of the tarp??? dressed in all white also, one of our trombones almost hit one of the field judges with her slide at BOA houston. another judge almost got stuck in the middle of our form - would've been a disaster
