  1. life sucks = being on a JV football team that lost to the Westfield band while playing full tackle (Spring i believe)
  2. i saw the woodlands at area, but i havent seen reagan this year. *shrug, i guess i expected reagan to perform better than TWHS - i thought the woodlands' show had some cool parts, but i prefer bands with minimal props / distractions depends on personal taste
  3. cool, i like the uniform, but i still prefer our cavalier hats over the traditional hats anyday
  4. yes, i can sing this (youtube 3 mins) what is a clarinet?
  5. failing classes = can't march
  6. wow, a very tight contest. the woodlands beating reagan by 0.1? i didnt think that they were that good. maybe they cleaned up a lot since area ps, im not knocking the woodlands, just saying an opinion
  7. "my 2 front teeth" What is the meaning of life?
  8. just wanted to try out this poll maker tool. EDIT: 3, US history, english III, and Physics
  9. albert einstein = physics
  10. music = theory
  11. do you guys speak in perfect rhythm?
  12. 8.7 quads are awesome
  13. really? why is that? V12's are softer than blue box and 56's but what's wrong with high school students using them? personally i prefer 56's (strength 4), they're awesome in all octaves
  14. "When you win 59 consecutive regular-season games, they can't all come easy. Friday at Galena Park ISD Stadium, nothing came easy for the North Shore Mustangs as Pasadena Memorial fought the area power hard for three quarters before things broke North Shore's way en route to a 20-3 victory. The Mustangs (9-0, 6-0 District 22-5A) clinched their fifth consecutive outright district title with the win. Pasadena Memorial (6-3, 4-2) held the Mustangs to three first-half points, the fewest anyone has held North Shore to in the first half this season. A determined Mustangs offense opened the second half with a 12-play, 59-yard drive ending in a 32-yard Miguel Prudencio field goal to give North Shore a 6-3 lead. The Mavericks swung back with an eight-play drive that set up a first-and-goal at the North Shore 3. Sophomore running back Bo Snelson fumbled the ball into the end zone on the next play for a North Shore touchback. Four plays later, Mustangs quarterback Vance Fizer (nine carries, 105 yards) sprinted 46 yards for a score giving North Shore a 13-3 lead. "When the defense got that turnover I was enamored," Fizer said. "It was really important and I'm glad they were able to make plays." The momentum the Mavericks built on that drive was lost with the fumble and they turned the ball over on the next two drives. Pasadena Memorial's four turnovers translated into 14 North Shore points. Fizer added a 26-yard touchdown pass to Matthew Tolbert to close out the scoring." we lost the game 20-3... BTW, North Shore was ranked #11 in Texas, but because we did what we did, they dropped to 13...haha
  15. 63 winds...wow and you have to take on SFA and Dulles too... we marched 99 people this year - percussion and guard included, excluding pit. we have more members in the band, but that's how many the show was written for. have maybe 6 alternates, 7 pit? 3 DMs. then again, this was only the 4th year the school has been open, without a huge population to draw students from (college park spawning from the Woodlands) EDIT: the topic - i agree, a big hs band needs good feeder school bands, both in number and, first & foremost, quality. reputation helps, but it depends on what the school focuses on - sports vs academics vs music
  16. 8.5 ^ dci is pretty hardcorps. ha i revived a thread...lol ps - mine says "The Band With The Cool Hats" at the top
  17. wow, so what they say is true... you guys are huge! y'all are like 6 times the size of our band...
  18. thanks! to be honest, i was a little disappointed at our 9th place finish but oh well, life goes on... some of our sets could've been much cleaner, but we had 7 people fail and had to change our drill last week right before contest. it was a really fun show to do (90+ pictures with cool music IMO) we (the band) felt good about that performance and had no regrets.
  19. i liked y'all's show, it was pretty cool - i loved the music pasadena memorial anyone?
  20. football outside the bandhall, but only starting this week - if we get hurt without dying during marching season, the director would hunt you down and kill you...
  21. cool thx, i havent had time to find the full results for finals. so the one A school decided to opt out of finals...in that case, i believe that we were the smallest band in finals unless DS had fewer - i never got to watch them perform
  22. quintlingual (sp?) 5 haha 1 english 2 cantonese 3 mandarin 4 a Chinese language I cannot type in english 5 spanish - not fluent, but can get by
  23. can't decide for you...lol but if i had a choice of staying in Houston vs moving to Austin, I'd stay for sure. good luck with ur decision
  24. i prefer Overture to Candide. i agree that Irish Tune is awesome. Molly is cool, but i dont like it that much - and im a clarinet player too. its just the same bit repeated over and over again...
