anyone heard of this? apparently they are composed primarily of people too old for DCI and can play 20 different instruments. they have some woodwinds marching. idk, i just heard about them last saturday

really, they do. that's industrial grade plastic they use. made fresh - they might have that new plastic smell... i used a first act clarinet for solo and ensemble.....haha jk of course

top band: 7 Bb clarinets 10 flutes = headache 2 oboes 3 alto sax 2 tenors 1 bari 2 bass clar. 1 bassoon wow, i thought we had more than that...

seem like every 4a year, bands like to go to sam and such contests. last year sam had cy falls and berkner. the thing is, if you are not a well-established band with great feeders, everyother year makes much disappointment, kinda. sam and boa are awesome, but state is state. people not in band don't understand that UIL had bad judging systems. *shrug

no, the first solo was a senior and the second one was a junior. chris, the junior, got 10th at area this freshman couldn't march very well though. always got yelled at by the director and corrected by the upperclassmen. every step he took, forward or back, he looked like he was about to fall over.... anyway, since he made state, he got promoted from 3rd part to 1st part, with chris btw, his dad is a band director, his mom is an orchestra director, his brother is also a band director.....haha it runs in the family

i'm pretty sure that our band is going to play Clocks, a Meehan show next year... i'm not sure what to think, i don't like it that much, but i don't hate it.\ listen and tell me what y'all think i like Hypar Effect much bettr though, but we did that one this year. another time show - two years ago, we played Into the New Era, the SCV show, also about time sorta

who voted no? haha jk. every year would be awesome, no more missed chances. however, it state were to be held every year, i want to have a completely new judging system for area. face it, UIL judging is horrid, we gotta adopt the BOA point scale

guess what guys?? the day of contest....... i got sick i went anyway and got stuck in that cold, miserable choir recital hall for 7 hours!! anyway, i got 22 / 44 with acute pharyngitis *shrug & sigh* miss monday and tuesday of school - 80 hours of sleep in 3 days 4 ninghts...haha 3 people i think made state from our region, all from seniors from Kingwood, congrats to them! our first person from the school to make state band is...... a freshman trumpet! 7th of 7 taken.

for region band we only got: "October" and the navy song orch: Sibilaeus(sp?) 2nd Symphony Quest for the Grail after the region switch, the region band organizer for us probably wasnt very experienced at this. we didnt even get folders (music came in big brown envelopes... ) what about you guys? did y'all get exciting music? ours was boring, put a 7 yr old to sleep after eating a pound of sugar
