Your Favorite Woodwind Instrument
ClarinetGlissandoInBlue replied to barisaxy08's topic in Section Heaven
i just voted. clarinets in the lead. there's not other instrument like it. no other WW can play like a clarinet does. no other WW has the range, the tone, the awesomeness. 4 C's and almost another whole octave below under the staff C. -

*shakes fist* lucky... Pasadena Memorial is playing: =Movement for Rosa - which i hate =Shepherd's Hey - which i'm not fond of until we take it nearer performance tempo =Procession of Sardar - interesting piece that keeps our attention on first clarinet, but it gets old our director told me that he wanted to play molly on the shore next year, but i don't know if he was serious. i don't know / think we have the lowreeds to play it i brought up the first movement of Weber's 2nd Concerto...haha he said no amusedly -
I'm thinking of playing something from the virtuoso list or w/e next year. seems easier to play a long solo with music than to run the slight risk of forgetting some random articulation or dynamic. what do y'all think? makes sense right? i have some of those solos, and they don't look all that difficult. just have lots of small details and stuff, but nothing that's impossible anyone do that this year or before?

yup. thanks! i'm going to tell the judge that so maybe i can get a one without playing yeah, i forgot that nobody from our area posts here...lol I'm gonna play Weber's 1st Clarinet Concerto - the Rondo of it. finished the memorization last thursday, so i have tons to clean before contest. S&E really caught me by suprise this year, cause last year, i already had almost half of my solo memorized by the time we came back to school in Jan. clarinets and woodwinds are gonna be upstairs, so be prepared for the little keyboards that are used every year. I got to play the Brahms Sonata with my pianist on a little casio....... it didnt even have enough keys to play all the notes....... anyway, this year is at our school, so hopefully conditions will be much better than past years. for one, the AC will be on...

Trombones---B- (we wont hav any for next year...) Tubas---B- (cant count.) Percussion---B ('A' last year, ppl graduated)
