2021 UIL Area C 4A
Dave609 replied to J-Mike16's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
I have seen Spring Hill's performance, and it is definitely different from previous year due to them not doing a Military Style show. I do believe they will make state though! -

21 as of right now. At least 4 (Which will happen because Region 3 has Canton, Wills Point, Kaufman, Sunnyvale, Mabank, Caddo Mills, Ford, and Terrell) need to receive a one today in order for 5 to advance to State. So we should at least being seeing 27 bands at Area for Area B after today. If all Region 3 bands receive a one though, we will only be seeing 29 bands make it to Area, and only 5 would advance to State -

If Summit advances to State, then it will be their first appearance at the State Contest. I am very excited about this contest! -

My bad, someone had said that Gonzales HS had gotten a 1 at Regional, but they didn't, so I had counted them -

Which would make it 30 bands that did Qualify. Even without Region 27 -

There are 29 bands that qualified, but I think Kennedale's spot still counts, even if they opt out. -
UIL 6A - Area H

Hey ya'll, so back in 2018, they were only supposed to send three bands, since they had 19 bands, but they sent 4. Does anyone know why they did it? Could they do it again this year? -
2021 UIL Area C 4A
Dave609 replied to J-Mike16's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
I think the spots still count. Like last year when the the bands that had received a one chose the Military Contest, their spots were still counted in the contest results as a DNA Band, which allowed more bands to advance to the State Open Class Contest -

Well then, looks like we may be seeing a new band make State or a band return! Has all the bands in Area D qualified? -
UIL 6A Area I 2021
Dave609 replied to Dave609's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
I hope that 5 bands do advance to Area I ! This area is one of the "Underdog" areas, and some of the top "Underdog" bands in 6A come from this Area! I can see Seven Lakes and Cypress Woods as the given two to advance, and I hope that Cy-Fair can get back to the State contest. I personally would love to see Cinco Ranch advance to State as I have seen a few of their shows, and I was really impressed with them. If 6 bands were to advance, then that would leave so much for the 4th, 5th, and possible 6th spot. One band that I thought was going to advance last year was Cypress Park, I don't know how they are doing this year, but it would be cool to see them advance to Area Finals! This is going to be one amazing contest and I can't wait to see if 30 bands do advance to Area to send the possible 6th band to State! -

I think it will be roughly the same in 4A Area A since another band that had made Area previously had made a 2 -

Uil Area F predictions
Dave609 replied to Leftmarcher28's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
If 28 make it to Area, then the bands that I feel have a chance at making State are: The Woodlands (Lock for State) Oak Ridge The Woodlands College Park Nimitz (Probably in a lower spot in Area Finals) Spring Tomball North Shore Klein Oak -
2021 BOA DFW (Oct. 9)
Dave609 replied to LeanderMomma's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
this contest will be good for sure! I have a high feeling that it will be a fight between Hebron and Flower Mound for the top spot, but there is no telling what we will be seeing at the contest! Also for the lower classes, I feel that Wills Point will win their classification -
Another Area in 4A that has strong competition is Area D. Last year, 6 bands advanced to the State contest, and this year, we could be seeing 6 bands advance once again. The bands that advanced last year were Springtown, Kennedale, Burnet, Taylor, China Spring, and Lake Belton. This contest will be a good one and with the return of Castleberry, the competition will be, for sure, a good one. Good luck to all the bands at Region and we will see how everything goes at the Area contest and prepare to see who will advance to the 4A State championships!

I haven't seen a topic for Area I in 6A, so I thought I would make one for it. This event is being held October 30th. Last year we saw 4 bands advance to the State contest, which were Seven Lakes, Bridgeland, Cypress Woods, and Katy Tompkins. The 2018 results had a different result as 5 bands advanced to State, which were, Katy, Jersey Village, Seven Lakes, Cy-Fair, and J.E. Taylor. I can't wait to see who has a chance at making it to State this year from this Area, but I haven't been able to see many performances, so I have a very slim chance of guessing correctly on who will make State from this Area. I will say that I believe that Seven Lakes and Cypress Woods are a lock for State this year. Other bands who have a high chance of making it are Cy-Fair (Was State Alternate in 2020), Jersey Village, J.E. Taylor, Cinco Ranch, Bridgeland, Katy Tompkins, Cypress Falls, and Langham Creek. Good luck to all bands in the upcoming weeks as Region Contest's begin, and can't wait to see how finals goes!
