Was just listening to prelims, no Wylie East or Jordan is very surprising. Congratulations to all our finalist though, will be watching some of HEB till I have my evening stuff but very excited to see how this shakes out.

Don’t need to apologize lol! That’s why I don’t make predictions so early, impossible to see everyone so early, but based of history and what I’ve seen and heard, they should both be comfortably in the top half, though I’d love to see some surprises

MG Jonson and James Bowie will be in the top half here. I could see TC top three but not 1st.

Really great lineup, and happy all bands get to perform twice! Awesome seeing Lake Travis come down, will be fun to see how they stack up against SLC, Wylie, Rockwall, Central, Ect. Other than saying Hebron will win, there’s plenty of room for everyone to shock some people with placements!

North Lamar isn’t attending and I’m mainly basing Canton on the second half of the season

Scoring is the big difference. For boa, you’ve got music and visual, both having an individual and ensemble judge, both being 20% of the overall score (the two judges give each band a score out of twenty, then they add and divide the two for an average)Then there’s General effect (GE), where there are two music ge and one visual ge judge. Each score out of 20 and then the three are added up for total ge which is added two the two averages of music and visual. The website Hornrank does an amazing job with breaking down results. Captions for prelims are given to each of 4 classes (A, AA, AAA and AAAA) or 1A-4A. Size is based on enrollment grades 10-12. 12 bands to finals based on score regardless of class and class championships do exhibition if they don’t make finals. Other than scoring it’s just another marching contest. Have fun here, I’ll be around as well to see these awesome programs!

Yes if you were to line up the numbers 1- however many that's the order. If a band doesn't qualify than they adjust the schedule but they've always done the drawings long before the contest for area, mainly so the directors and kids can prepare early for any super early call times

Nope, but they schedule is out! 11:15- Como-Pickton HS 11:30- Alba-golden HS 11:45- Whitewright HS 12:00- Whitesboro Lunch break 1:15- Gainesville HS 1:30- Community HS 1:45-Van Alstyne HS 2:00- Pine Tree HS 2:15- Sulphur Springs HS 2:30-Celina Break 3:00- Grand Saline HS 3:15- Sherman HS 3:30- Frisco Liberty HS 3:45- Canton HS 4:00- Royse City HS 4:15- Prosper HS 12 to finals, finals starts at 7 PM with class exhibitions for 2A and 3A if needed starting at 6:30. Will be an easy win for prosper but everything else is up for grabs. Here's my early predictions: 1. Prosper (sweep) 2. Royse City 3. Liberty 4. Celina 5. Sherman 6. Celina 7. Sulphur Springs 8. Pine Tree 9. Canton 10. Whitesboro

Looks like attendance much like Wylie got hit hard due to HEB and Melissa being this day. 1:45- Eastland HS 2:00 Iowa Park 2:15- Bridgeport 2:30-Sanger HS 2:45- Gainesville HS 3:00-Break 3:15- Pine Tree HS 3:30- Lake Dallas 3:45- Aubrey 4:00- Frisco Reedy I think this Will be an easy win for Reedy, with Pine Tree taking 2nd and Lake Dallas and Aubrey fighting for 3rd.

Completely agree. Idk so much about Horn yet, ever since the new director in 19 they haven’t been the same, but Mesquite isd has been on the rise a lot post Covid. I’m very to see how Lake Highlands does here bc they’ve been on a role as well, really a lot of programs here have been doing great of late, gonna be a very competitive finals!

Bro my audio wasn’t working for some reason 😭 they did do a train show last season so I’m a bit curious as to why another one, though MN has been doing multiple jazz shows so maybe their trying to do something like that??

Really strong lineup! I’d Rockwall is probably the favorite, though I could honestly Emerson winning after seeing them, they are soooo good this year!! Here’s my predictions: 1. Rockwall (visual) 2.
