I was thinking maybe they would do a WW feature and just have them play a few of the Major Scales back to back really fast lol -

Love hearing these great things about Pearland! Ik if they could pull a medal here those kids would be absolutely electrified.... who knows, but it sounds like a strong start for them which of course is always great! Good luck to everyone competing here today! -

Coppell: Major Scale- Simply Magical! The woodwind ensemble at the beginning was so beautiful (love me some Leander 2015) and then it's just lay down the hammer! I've still yet to understand the theme as a whole, but regardless tons of emotions coming from each member, very call sidestep move from the woodwinds at the beginning, brass was very clean and powerful, Mellos and trumpets were ripping through those hard licks, and I'm NGL, that flugel solo.... Man, it's gonna be one that may make some shed some tears to say the least. Guard and percussion were wondaful as always! Amazing job Coppell!! -

Krum: By Candlelight- great performance from Krum! Loved the soloist throughout, the piano was a very nice addition, although sometimes it was a bit too much for me as it tended to cover up the sound of the band somewhat often. The singing at the end was not expected and definitely a very pleasant surprise. Drill was pretty clean, and the perc was very good for their size. will most likely be your class A champion. Great job Krum! -

Forney: In the Arena- OH. MY. GOD. I'm absolutely blown away by Forney! Great and super impactful opening hit! Soloist throughout were on fire, and that Percussion... on another level! The drill was also very clean, I loved how they kept alluding back to the music played backfield in the beginning throughout the whole show, very impactful! I'm so freaking excited to see then next weekend live and would be kind of shocked if they don't make finals, probably my new favorite Forney show, just wow wow wow. Amazing job Forney!! -

Trinity: Mad Hearts- holy cow Trinity! What an amazing performance! Really enjoyed the pre show body work, the end of the opening moment where the brass sound slowly disappeared as the woodwind and then the brass scattered to their form was very cool, huge and balanced ensemble sound and great soloist! Wouldn’t be surprised at all if they make finals. Great job Trinity! -

Frisco Liberty: A common thread- What a wonderful performance to open up prelims! The illustration of "the common thread" is seen in the drill throughout the show many times, some very challenging and well executed Carolina Crown styled brass features, loved the soloist throughout, especially the Violin ( I think I'm not the best with my string instruments in marching band 😭), which added some great music GE. Really beautiful performance, very interested to see how they do this season at Area B, could definitely shock some people. Great job Frisco Liberty! -

Good morning everyone! We are here live on Box5 at HEB stadium! I’ll be doing coverage of the first 3 blocks, as unfortunately Big 12 football calls this evening. Good luck to all the bands competing today! -
It depends... If James Martin doesn't make finals at BOA dfw and comes back here for finals, they will most likely win and sweep captions. I would guess Mansfield would be second, but I could see The Colony being over them. They have a great show and are coming off a really strong season last year. Assuming Martin doesn't make finals at boa, which I don't think they will this year just bs of how deep the comp is, here's what I'm thinking: 1st. James Martin (caption sweep) 2nd/3rd. Mansfield or The Colony 4th. Rockwall-Heath 5th Birdville 6th Anna 7th. Lakeview Centennial 8th North Mesquite 9th/10th Arlington/ Panther Creek/ Little Elm/ Guyer/ Garland It gonna be a battle for those last 2 or 3 spots, so I'm very excited to see who ends up getting those last few spots. Good luck to everyone competing here!

For those wondering, Arlington Martin is James Martin! It seems they are going to this, then BOA dfw, and I'm guessing if they don't make finals there will come perform here in the evening. Anyways, here's the schedule: 8:45 James Martin HS 9:00 Break 9:15 Ponder HS 9:30 Break 9:45 RL Turner HS 10:00 Lake Dallas HS 10:15 North Mesquite HS 10:30 Panther Creek HS 10:45 Grand Saline HS 11:00 Break 11:15 Graham HS 11:30 Newman Smith HS 11:45 Northwest HS 12:00 Birdville HS 12:15 The Colony HS 12:30 Break 1:30 Lakeview Centennial HS 1:45 Arlington HS 2:00 Nimitz HS 2:15 Anna HS 2:30 Rockwall-Heath HS 2:45 Break 3:00 Guyer HS 3:15 Tyler Legacy HS 3:30 Garland HS 3:45 Mansfield HS 4:00 Little Elm HS 4:15 UTA Exhibition 4:30 Awards Ceremony

These are some bold predictions! I don’t personally see Lonestar beating out any of these bands other than Burleson Centennial, but I do think they have a great shot at making finals -

Area C, which is still ridiculously deep and that’s where Forney will be going as well -

I’d say this is something around what I’d have, I’ll do placements after this weekend -

I don’t personally see Lake Ridge making finals here, especially over Boyd and Forney. Don’t get me wrong the are really good, but the show lacks imo GE, but I don’t think they will be far out. -
I commented on their comment so hopefully they better understand that what you’re doing is fine, especially if the band directors of these schools haven’t said anything to you which obviously we know they haven’t. I think as a former hs band marcher her comment is understandable, but no what your doing is completely okay, it’s like what @natertater21000 said, the directors aren’t looking for videos of the competition, and even if they are, they aren’t the judges of the comps, the judges are lol

I think they’ll be fine either way. I feel like if they do go up, we may see a new side of CP due to how much more competitive 6A is, as in just a bigger ensemble sound or something else “upgrading” on a whole new level! seeing how they’ve done against 6A programs even this season that are consistent State finalist, I don’t think it would be much of an issue for them. -

Yeah this is what I’m thinking, I could see Clear Brook winning, and Dickinson could surprise people as well! -

That’s quite literally what this is with the exception of Coppell! Of course a completely different judging system but it’s still a good reference as to where the programs are against each other. -
