I think Cedar Park struggled from some of its contests being cancelled and not having that feedback to lean on but I’m sure they’re going to rock everyone’s sock off come State and SA this year

Dobyns-Bennett is saving up for their upcoming Rose Parade trip I think that’s why they opted out of Grand Nats this year

Something I remember reading a while back was someone suggesting having 16 bands in finals rather than 14. I’m not sure what I think of that to be honest no strong opinion for me just bringing up an idea from a while back. I wish Dripping Springs would do BOA SA I know that in 2017 they would’ve absolutely been in the talks at San Antonio for a final spot, same with 18’. I’m actually not sure if they’re on a rotation of not on UIL Years and they didn’t go last year because they went to St Louis instead that sounds like a possibility but I’m not sure

This competition is stacked and I know there won’t be any problems with organization or anything, Cedar Ridge always delivers on that aspect

Missing State finals may have put them off some people’s radars but personally I’m looking forward to their Decadent show this year

Every time I see new small video of CTJ my jaw drops. There’s no way they can be this good this early, and yet they are. They are in the medal hunt at every single contest they’ll be attending this season.

After seeing Brandeis at Area H I saw a lot of promise. I’m sad they’re not doing San Antonio but I know they’re trying to figure everything out with contests and what-not!

Forgot to mention no matter which style these bands cater to they always bring amazing shows year after year

Some bands like Leander and CTJ always bring more BOA catered show but others bands like Vandegrift have found more success state years by toning down the boa style and focusing more on technique

If they’ve got a demanding drill I can see the judges rewarding that a tad bit

Some of the bands if they are performing their shows are doing it post-game due to the whole new halftime timing rule, I think that’s what Vista did

There are a lot of shows like that I wish would’ve been taken to Grand Nats as well. CTJ’s 2017 Production would’ve 100% been in contention to take the eagle without a doubt in my mind. I think any of the 2017 medalists could’ve given Carmel and Broken Arrow a run for their money truthfully.

I remember last years silver show disappeared completely after Lost and Found kicked into full gear I think it was a Beatles show but I didn’t really hear anything about it except that they performed it only once
