So, if they don't want someone copying them: 1. The shouldn't compete 2. Shouldn't perform at halftime 3. Only Practice in a closed facility 4. Perform behind closed curtains at regionals and area, then publicly reveal at State. This copying thing is parent paranoia who think that marching band like football. Directors aren't going to change a show, a vision, that they have been developing for over 6 months to match some other director"s vision and strengths of the other director's group. Could it potentially happen at the lowest level of band competitions, yes.

This is my favorite show in Area H 6A. Seeing them again will be good. It is such a beautiful show.

@Tubalord11 For regionals they did not have concessions running. You are allowed to bring in an unsealed bottle of water. If you are going to be here all day maybe bring a cooler with water and leave it in the vehicle and rock/paper/scissors to see who is doing the running. If you like ice cream there's an awesome ice cream shop within walking distance named Scoop & Score. They support local HS bands and are some really great people.

For region there was no link available until you walked up to the gate. So, bring cash or be ready to use the link when you get there. If you have a stadium seat be sure to bring it.

Rouse 5A: Top performance of the evening. Leander Lions 5A: This show ripples and is cleaning up very nicely Vandegrift 6A: This show is cleaning up nicely. I love the uniforms, guard, and front ensemble Vista Ridge 6A: This show has the highest cap of all shows. They are playing fantastically and I am very excited to see where they take us as the season pushes forward Lake Travis 6A: I love this concept. The brass are solid Liberty Hill 5A: They are making huge strides. Guard is so much better this season Tom Glenn 5A: They remind me of Rouse from 5 or 6 years ago. They play well, very controlled Westlake 6A My favorite show of the evening. This is high art. It is very reminiscent of the Mandarins. Welcome back Westlake Cedar Park 5A This show is changing each time I see it. They are starting to work in musical dynamics and they looked very good this evening. OVerall top 4 of the evening: Rouse (music, and GE) Vandegrift (front ensemble and aux are outstanding) Cedar Park Westlake

I do not see a Rouse sweep.... Vandy's front ensemble and guard are way too strong for that happen.

There was no impact. Rouse won the day. They were clean, balanced, and engaging. At TMC, after watching Region 32 tonight. I believe that Rouse will once again win the day. They are performing at an exceptional level right now. The big fight is going to be between Cedar Park and Vandegrift.

That is not something I have heard any scuttlebutt about. Very interesting.

Yeah, unfortunately the way that Cedar Park is growing they are going to redistrict a little. I remember the CP will never be a 6A school line of thought. It's just that the growth is getting out of hand, especially close to the school where it wouldn't make sense to ship students out to other schools.

So, while I think Rouse is going to have an amazing season I am not 100% sold on them over Cedar Park. I believe that this Rouse show is going to hurt some feelings throughout the season. At Austin BOA, Rouse made their points against Cedar Park in music. cedar Park tends to wait until the last 2 weeks to really clean up music and dynamics. they have always struggled in the GE department. This season the show is not only a GE monster but it also does what no other 5A band is doing --exposing every member while placing high demand on them. This season feels a lot like 2019 when Rouse beat CP at every show....until finals at UIL. This season I just don't see Requiem having the top end finish8ng kick that I can see developing from Cedar Park. I believe they are going to finish 1-2 in UIL this season but I get the feeling thay they places are going to switch in either semi-finals or finals. Excited to see how it turns out, especially with this most likely being CP's last year in 5A.
