  1. C.H. Yohe Great spinning blocks after the pretty flute solo. Front ensemble doing good work. Great job by the brass quartet and wonderful work in the ensemble to meet their balance when you came in. Super work in the closer.
  2. Clyde Great sound. I missed the first half but the energy and ensemble sound was fantastic at the end.
  3. That's pretty safe but I would switch Holliday and Whitesboro but it's super close.
  4. Wall I love the wave at the end of the opener! Great trumpet duet I love the dancing in Sugar Plum Fairie movement
  5. Howe Your ensemble sound in the opener is excellent. I love the front ensemble placement. Everyone is moving with purpose and confidence. Nice trombone solo and delicate woodwinds in the ballad. The guard spins look incredible with their dresses and flags overhead. Really a pretty show. Congratulations
  6. Texas Leadership Charter Academy I love seeing the Duzenbergs bring out the guard. Super precise tonguing along with the snares. The guard is hitting everything in a great way Pretty sax solo and bringing the flute in is wonderful. What a pretty mello line in the closer. Well done.
  7. I have only caught this block so far. But Whiteboro and Holliday have to be locks. I wish I could have caught the earlier blocks.
  8. Redwater This is an ominous preshow sound you have going on. Nice front ensemble work. High brass loving the phrasing in the opener. Flute soloist and front ensemble sounds so nice. Nice trumpet work and support by the woodwinds. Guard with amazing double flag work in Nothing Else Matters. Nice movement forming into the crown. Fun show. Lots of cool things happening throughout.
  9. Holliday Digging the preshow music. The opener just sent chills through my entire body!! What a sound! Moving with precision. The crescendo at the end of the opener was outstanding. The guard in the ballad! My eyes popped! The Van Halen-esque guitar solo, this kid rips! and the band is matching the energy in movement. OMG!!! That is one heck of a show!! So happy I got to tune in to watch this. One of my favorite shows of the season regardless of class. The band moves well, the guard is great, sounds are nice throughout. Great mix of music. I can't wait to see this in finals
  10. Commerce Battery killed it in the opener! Nice ensemble articulation in the 2nd piece and low brass into that transition just carries it. Flute duet was very pretty. Great end to the ballad and awesome design choice to keep most of the band off of the 5 yard markers in the square. The snares are just spot on in the "Isn't She Lovely" piece. Front ensemble with a very sweet run into the close. Nice work today!
  11. So, this is my first time catching any of these bands in years. I have no idea of potential general placements or current feelings on ranking headed into this contest.
  12. Santa Gertrudis This duet to start sets a great feel into that opening hit!! Nice guard work and your woodwinds are ripping through this book. Super strong finish on the 2nd piece. Low brass really bringing it in the ballad. I love spinning the lamp and the band falls as if they are smoke ir potentially a djinn. Super design and execution. Great show!
  13. Whitesboro What a visually cool intro and opener. Nice ensemble control on the first hit. Awesome tempo control on the NIN Hurt The closer fully sucked me in. I didn't want the show to end. I have a feeling we will see you later tonight. Great run
  14. It was visual and content & design where Cedar Park won this contest. Music and percussion was a dead heat between CP and Rouse
  15. @clarinetistkai05 Mega Congrats to you and your band. What a finals show! I was stunned and happy.

  17. I never claimed I got their placement right
  18. LISD:: What a season! 5A and 6A titles continue to reside in the district. Wakeland: WOWzers! Forney:: You not only floored this idiot but you floored the judges. Congratulations!
  19. I'm pretty sure I can now place them all correctly too if you want to double down 🤣
  20. I got all 12 finalists right!! That counts for something IMO!
  21. Cedar Park was never a dark horse. There is no band that turns it on in the state finals like Cedar Park, not in Texas, in the USA.
  22. That's right. My maths weren't mathing. still 6 out of the last 7 tries is pretty decent
  23. I think they just set the record for most consecutive state wins with 6. They have 7 in total.
  24. How my eyes and ears saw it: 1st - Cedar Park 15 2nd - Rouse 17 3rd - Wakeland 20 4th - Leander 22 5th - Forney 6th - Burleson Centennial 7th - Lone Star 8th - Hendrickson 9th - Friendswood 10th - Lebanon Trail 11th - Roma 12th - Richland (this doesn't feel right)
  25. --->Wakeland<--- You make it insanely difficult to root for an LISD sweep. What a show!! What a sound. Super mature body movements throughout the piece. The guard double flags through the sax solo is my favorite guard moment of the day. The half time vs regualr time marching was excellent in the ballad. What a closer! Congratulations Wakeland!! Thank you for kicking this show in the teeth.
