  2. I remember at BOA Austin the announcer kept saying Burnet like, "Ber-net" and it bothered all of us that he wasn't saying it like, "Burn-it"
  3. Ok, I'll just start with my own area. Who do you think will make finals in Area D? Pflugerville is down to 5A, CTJ isn't going to Grand Nats And Austin is now 6A.
  4. We already have a tag for state, but not area. Any predictions for finalists?
  5. This idea sounds a little creepy, but I trust you. I'm Josh, Anderson 2016-2020. I play percussion, I'm probably just gonna stay in pit forever.
  6. I was just talking about how 2011 was our earliest BOA and how 2017 was the first year to choose to not go to San Antonio by choice is all.
  7. We've been using borrowed backdrop frames from Leander and Round Rock, and some of our flags in 2017 from Round Rock 2016 as well.
  8. Anderson, Austin (possibly every other year? 2011-2014, 2016) Technically we don't go every other year. We missed 2015 because of weather and 2017 was our first year choosing not to attend since 2011 because we went to st. Louis.
  9. I know that used to happen all the time with us, but we bought those shows pre-made. Funny thing is, one of those got us to state and now we use custom shows.
  10. Maybe the music from Crown 2015 or even Medea could work, I'm not too keen on the topic though.
  11. I saw a post talking about everyone's favorites in 2016, so why not do it for 2017 even though it's a bit late? I can't put much, because I'm not generally experienced and haven't seen that many shows. I did really enjoy Sioux Falls Lincoln's performance at St. Louis, Churchill's (Especially ballad), Dripping Springs, Cedar Park's was fun, Vandy had a strong show, Carmel, Broken Arrow was crazy, Blue Springs had a cool concept. I'm sure there's a lot more, but I can't remember or go very in depth. I would like to see what everyone else liked last year.
  12. I do the same thing with the UT stadium downtown, but then I realize that there's no parking lots to play in.
  13. I totally agree, I just feel as if one more thing needs to be added. Passion. If many members do not care, they drag the others down. Many people at my school are only in it for the social aspect, and around 80% or so of guard is Freshmen and about 80% of them quit after their first year because they use it as a stepping stone to drill team or cheer. My directors made a forum and asked what needs to be improved and I put down that we need to have a stronger middle school program when it comes to marching. I hear that some school teach their kids how to march which makes it easier for all when they get to high school to allow a more complex show. Ours does not, I felt I learned more in Freshman years than 6-8th grade combined.
  14. Austin Reagan always puts out such fun shows. I think they get the loudest applause at AISD Band Jamboree.
  15. Oh jeez, as if making Area finals wasn't hard enough, now we have more people to compete against. Last year we only made finals because CTJ dropped out, and I don't think that'll save us again next year. Time to motivate people to practice even more and actually care.
  16. I've always wondered, how can a show be more for UIL than BOA? I know that all UIL judges are in the box, but is that all?
  17. Those results are just wow. I'm pretty sure 8th-5th all had a score of 92 and had such a small gap. I just wish USBands kept up their scores as well as BOA does.
  18. Oh yeah, that was a terrible run. Sun and wind facing us. We came unprepared for the conditions and still tired from St. Louis. One of the best things to come out of that was the fact that I winked at the camera.
  19. Here you go! http://trigonroad.com/yea/eventDetail.cfm?searchState=&eventID=1712
  20. You know, that's a good point. I guess if that's not it, we still have to fix our discipline and caring about band in general.
  21. Man, is it me or did STL get more competitive? Cy-Falls didn't even make finals! Are they having a bad season or bad rep? I know that us here at Anderson are not having the best season, 19th at Austin, 26th at STL. I'm guessing it's because we literally have no props and minimal choreography on field. On a different note (pun intended) those finalist bands were amazing! I can tell Lincoln was a crowd favorite and the stadium looked like it got brighter when O'Fallon was on field.
  22. I'm not sure what to expect, this'll be my first time going. I did watch a few videos though, Bixby has some cool props and I can't wait to see Broken Arrow.
  23. I checked and he has nothing from BOA Austin and we didn't make finals there, so sadly it wasn't likely. Maybe if we make it in St Louis there could be some videos, but for now there are no multicam videos of us.
  24. Yeah, I really wish FloMarching has an archive of videos mainly because I want to see multicam for my school's show.
