This area is just so unforgiving. It’s only here where we consistently huge programs (that have the skill to compete at state and do well) have to constantly fight for their lives to make it to the Alamodome. But ig that’s just how the cookie crumbles. Glad to see Timber Creek finally catch a break here and super stoked for Carroll.

I didn’t really know where to post this but on June 23, 2020, we learned of the passing of George Townsend, a father and band director at Duncanville HS as most of us know him.
George Townsend was so much more than just a band director. He was a kind soul and a role model for countless students over his various years of teaching. He carried himself with grace and humility and his impact will resound forever with those that were graced with his presence in our lives. His passing hurts beyond what words can describe as he was a light in the lives of so many people. I ask that y’all keep him, his family, and the people involved in the Duncanville band program in your prayers. This hurts so much.

In this case, James is just a year older than the assistant director Hunter who's been running the marching band. I'm curious to see how things shake up a Timber Creek in terms of show design. I know James has always acted as the program coordinator and led the show design at his past two high schools, but Timber Creek's recent success has a lot to do with the outside design team they've put together the past few seasons. Quite honestly, while a head director can piece together a program themselves that is relatively regionally successful in West Tennessee, I'm not convinced most directors can do the same in Texas.

We are now less than a month away from the first competitions of the 2019 Fall Season, and bands are continuing to announce their competitive productions.

If you find out about a group's 2019 production, and care to share, please post it to this thread.

I will update this post with the shows as they come in.

In 2016 my freshmen year at Duncanville, I remember receiving a full standing ovation from everyone in our stadium at our last performance when a giant French flag flew over the field spanning from the 30 yard line to the other 30 yard line. We reemmerged in an Eiffel tower formation while the flag flew over and everyone in the stadium completely lost it.

1ndth place: angry band parents storm the field after their bands place lower than they thought they would and accidentally end up performing a marching show that is better than anything we've ever seen

Didn't care for Flower Mound's show. Being weird to just be weird is not enjoyable to me. The "outside of the box" experience from them is getting old. Give me something like their 2016 show any day. Maybe I will like it better after I see it a few more times. Maybe.
