  1. I have a really good feeling about Leander as well this year! Their product this season has all the right qualities and they are sounding fantastic already. It’s going to be a great GN experience this year in so many ways and I am so happy to be going!
  2. I totally get where you’re coming from and have often bemoaned the fact that we will never know who really is the best band in the country every year since they don’t all go, but I have come to appreciate the contest for what it is. And it’s just so dang incredible to be in that stadium supporting your favorite program. There’s no other contest like it! 😍😍
  3. From the directors who receive copies earlier than the rest of us.

  5. Well, this contest has now been confirmed as moved to Ratliff Stadium in Odessa, TX. I guess it will now be called BOA Odessa? 😁
  6. It’s called Shades and it’s an exploration of color. It’s going to be fantastic and so very Leander. Here’s the information about it from Leander’s Instagram post in May. 7. This is FACTS. The crowd went NUTS for Phantom! It was so exciting being there on Saturday.
  8. I’ll be there!
  9. This is completely bonkers!!!!!!
  10. Bentonville announced their show Black Sheep. I know they aren’t a Texas band but they are a GN finalist and they are headed to the Prosper regional this October!
  11. Gotta say, the corps I most excited about at this point are Bluecoats (they had me at Son Lux), the Phantom Regiment (definitely have the best uniforms and the fan adoration factor) and the Troopers (definitely the best Troopers yet). I may change my mind though the season but these are the current shows I’m DYING to see live in San Antonio. My honorable mentions are the Boston Crayons, Blue Romantics and the New Orleandarins. 😍😍😍 Edit: AND CAROLINA CROWN TOO! How could I forget how much I love their show!!
  12. It is indeed going to be absolutely insane. So glad I’m going!!
  13. So excited to see two out of state bands competing here this year!
  14. It was on old list. I update them as I can.
  15. We can thank having state happen every year now for this. BOA San Antonio is not going to be the same as it once was as long as state is every year. Bands can’t miss that much school, much less afford to travel twice to San Antonio in a week.
  16. Confirmed (16): A&M Consolidated H.S., TX Chaparral H.S., TX Claudia Taylor Johnson H.S., TX Cuero H.S., TX Dripping Springs H.S., TX James Bowie H.S., TX Liberty Hill H.S., TX Lockhart H.S., TX Long Creek H.S., TX Louis D. Brandeis H.S., TX Manor New Tech H.S., TX McNeil H.S., TX Moe & Gene Johnson H.S., TX Pieper H.S., TX Robert E. Hendrickson H.S., TX William B. Travis H.S., TX
  17. Any chance at all that we could just have ONE Skyliners thread that just gets added onto rather than starting a new thread over and over again?
  18. He must be salty if they are brining him! 😜
  19. Just added Hutto and McNeil to the list. I know that McNeil normally hosts this contest, and I am assuming that they still are, but it is also great to see them actually competing here this fall. We are at 14 bands now, let’s get 10 more! I am not sure what the low numbers are about other than the addition of the San Marcos contest and the fact that this one is so early in the season. I hope that BOA Austin does not lose what it is that makes it so special!
  20. I’m also super pumped about this addition. Y’all be sure and follow the RKR (Royal Knight Regiment) band on all of their social media and encourage them on their journey next season to the Alamodome!
