  1. Areas B-5A and C-5A have been moved to Monday. Both are keeping the same prelims performance times.
  2. Thankfully, most Area fields will be artificial turf instead of natural grass.
  3. Yeah, rain doesn't get along well with all the electronics used to run the live blog.... If you are at an Area contest, be safe. And check in here on the forums and let us know how it is going.
  4. Congratulations for Haltom on 11th place with a score of 75.60.
  5. Congratulations to Haltom for making Finals!
  6. BOA Live Blog is here: http://www.musicforall.org/what-we-do/boa-marching-championships/live-blog-2015-bands-of-america-st-louis-super-regional-championship Thanks to IndianaMarching.com for running the BOA St. Louis Super Regional live blog.

  8. I'm always excited to see Queen City. Also the military bands.
  9. There currently aren't any plans for a live blog this weekend due to there being dozens of Region contests going on all at the same time. I will start a topic for people to post 2A/3A/5A Region results in so that we can keep track of how many can advance to State from each Area.
  10. You have to have 2 music judges and 1 marching judge having you in top-3, not just in advancement position.
  11. In 2005, Marcus was the first band to perform on Saturday at something like 6:30am. This was their bird show (Fowl Play), and the birds in the stadium were chirping up a storm as the preshow bird calls were playing in the pit.
  12. His sister is the actress Jennifer Morrison from House and Once Upon a Time. (also a season of How I Met Your Mother)
  13. Marcus, Hebron, Round Rock, LD Bell, and Jenks all stayed. It was awesome to see half of the finalists watching the encore.
  14. Ties are broken by making a new sub-contest of just the tied bands and re-ranking them. Vandegrift 4 3 4 4 3 3 3 Vista Ridge 3 4 2 3 4 4 4 Becomes: Vandegrift 2 1 2 2 1 1 1 = 10 Vista Ridge 1 2 1 1 2 2 2 = 11
  15. Exactly. There are still quite a few incomplete shows and other than the two RRs there really hasn't been any area mixing at all. Bands that go to GN also tend to have a completely different growth curve due to how late in the season it is. Keller, Round Rock, and Hebron all have extremely short shows right now, do it is extremely hard to judge them on what they could be like in November. Adding to everything else is just how extremely tight all the scoring has been at the top not only in overall scores but also in the captions.
  16. *I* am Spartacus.
  17. Yeah, the TMC is going to be the closest we can get for comparing Reagan to the LISD/Bowie bands.
  18. I'm really happy about getting 9/10 of my predictions right along with the right order for the top-3 in 4A. Flower Mound is just downright amazing.
  19. Skiatook and Denton Guyer.
  20. It really is! The schedule has changed this morning, btw. 2 bands dropped and one moved to later, so we aren't starting until 7:45am. I posted a picture of the schedule on the blog, FB, and Twitter.
  21. Since 24LiveBlog's comment system is so different from CoverItLive's, I've made this thread so that anyone that wants to comment can.
  22. I see what you mean. It's the low piano note over and over again that reminds me of the Sephiroth scenes. Not One Winged Angel, but scenes where some portion of the past plot is being revealed and Sephiroth was just there slightly before.
  23. - Leander's big full band first hit - Hebron's Tenor Sax Solo - Dripping Springs' Rite of Spring Lumbering backfield with the New World Symphony Largo forward I can't wait to experience Reagan's ballad since everyone is talking about it.
  24. Wagner from San Antonio (Judson ISD) was the 2012 USBands National Grand Champion.
