I agree, 6A Marching is much more well balanced than it was previously. 6A Area B gets a little bit easier, moving 3x State Finalists out (FloMo, Hebron, Marcus) while only moving 2x State Finalists in (Coppell, Duncanville) in. 6A Area C gets a lot tougher, though, with the opposite swap. The positive thing is that it may be possible to take 5 instead of the normal 3/4. Only taking 4 would likely mean FloMo, Hebron, Marcus, and a huge fight for the 4th spot.

Hebron had a 97.85 in semis. That is the highest score in BOA history on any level. It beats 2007 LD Bell's semis pre-penalty 97.80 and 2008 Avon's Finals 97.75. And they got that 97.85 with a low 17.7 in individual visual. Incredible.

Congratulations to Hebron for getting 4A Music and GE in Semis!

My dark horses to place much higher this year are Mason and Marian. I love every single bit of Mason's WSS show but wish they played a little bit better. Marian is just an absolute musical genius and the MariAnette stuff is straight up brilliant; they aren't used to doing body moves and such, though.

I mostly agree. That was by far the best run I've seen from Keller. Very clean all around and great centered controlled sounds the entire show. Broken Arrow is an absolute beast in GE and Visual, but a bit of a mixed bag musically. They have some absolutely fantastic moments musically, but also some extreme mud at other times.

There were definitely some timing issues from Round Rock (this dome is weird from the field), but overall the performance was at a much higher level than it was at SA. Not the kind of ungodly leap they made two years ago, but still a big step up. I think a lot of the differences of opinion stem from people that haven't seen them this year not understanding that they have slimmed down and aren't going for that humoungous ear shattering sound they used to have.

I didn't make it in time for TWHS, Keller, Hebron, nor KC, but Round Rock was MUCH improved from BOA SA! And all that anyone can talk about here is the Hebron sax solo.

It's primarily IM, but I've been helping out since the 3rd block today. Some of them needed a rest after almost 2 full days of grueling prelims. I will also be helping quite a bit during Semis and maybe some "wow" commentary in Finals.

Right now, we don't have any definitive official word on what the new alignments are going to be. We have seen initial re-alignment ideas, but those have not been confirmed to be final/official nor that they are necessarily applying equally towards TMEA/UIL/TSSBA. We have a thread on those initial ideas here: http://www.txbands.com/forums/index.php?/topic/6539-uiltmea-realignment-2016-2018/ The final results of the project will be released on December 18, 2015. https://www.tmea.org/divisions-regions/regions/realignment-project

Yes, there were very serious timing issues from Leander in Finals from the very first sax duet. And while they mostly recovered, they still seemed a bit freaked out the rest of the show. Even had some falls.

Yes, that list is 100% accurate.
