  1. Yes, we just got official word from BOA as well that Round Rock has cancelled for Friday. A Saturday performance for RR may or may not happen, that is being worked out right now.
  2. WOW! Be Safe! Turn Around Don't Drown!
  3. Word is that nothing is official yet, but most of the 2nd block may not happen due to all the weather, flooding, tornadoes, etc. BOA is trying to contact everyone they can to try and shuffle the schedule around and maybe get some local bands to perform earlier and then push late into the evening for the Austin area bands.
  4. Vandy is safe in San Antonio after having to pull off the road and evacuate into a hotel while on their way down. Other bands can't make it down safely, though.
  5. Try this one: http://www.24liveblog.com/live/1307500
  6. Del Valle warmed up outside, but MacArthur warmed up inside. I don't know what the rest of the bands are doing. There are some big cavernous warmup rooms underneath the stands. They aren't a great option, but they are much better than standing in the rain.
  7. Definitely! I was pleasantly surprised.
  8. It looks like it is working when I pull it up. Maybe try the BOA site version: http://www.musicforall.org/blog/live-blog/live-blog-2015-texas-dairy-queen-bands-of-america-san-antonio-super-regional-championship
  9. That was hands down my favorite music design moment at BOA Austin.
  10. You can post comments about the show as it goes on here. Be sure to check out the Live Blog at http://live.txbands.com A live video webcast is available for $25 at http://www.musicforall.org/video/live-webcast-schedule There will not be any official videos available after the competition is over due to copyright restrictions.
  11. At Area, the judges switch captions (one music judge stays the same). At State, there is a completely different panel for Prelims/Finals.
  12. Also, as far as Jerry World goes, the cost of renting just the field for one day completely blows away the *entire* budget of the SMBC.
  13. Yes, this is exactly the positive reasoning behind this scheduling decision and I very highly applaud the idea. This is why as TxBands, we run the live blog for every band in every classification both on Monday and Tuesday. All of the bands have worked hard and all of them deserve it. But also, yes, this is a bit of a scheduling disaster to have 5A running past midnight with awards likely extending into the 1am territory. All of the reasons that people are upset are valid too. Hopefully a better way can be found in later years. I just want everyone to keep in mind that this is also a big benefit to the kids in the 1A schools and will be an experience that they've never had before..
  14. That list isn't correct (likely due to the weather delay), but I don't know how much incorrect. I know that David Brandon (Duncanville) was J1 (prelims and finals).
  15. Whoa! - McKinney went from 10th to top-5! (10th to 2nd???) - McKinney North from 6th to top-5. - Wylie 3rd to out - Sherman 4th to out
  16. Southwest jumped from 7th in prelims to top-5. Frisco dropped from 4th to out.
  17. Prelims top-13: 1) Leander - 1,1,5, 1,1 = 9 2) Cedar Park - 3,2,1, 2,2 = 10 3) Vandegrift - 2,3,2, 5,4 = 16 4) Vista Ridge - 4,4,3, 4,3 = 18 5) Dripping Springs - 5,5,4, 3,5 = 22 6) McCallum - 6,6,7, 7,7 = 33 7) Seguin - 7,8,8, 10,8 = 41 8) Connally - 10,7,12, 6,10 = 45 9) Bryan - 9,9,16, 11,9 = 54 10) Temple - 11,10,9, 14,11 = 55 11) LBJ - 12,19,6, 13,6 = 56 12) Georgetown - 13,16,11, 8,12 = 60 13) East View - 8,14,14, 12,13 = 61 ...
  18. The weather was gorgeous inside the dome, but it was absolutely pouring outside during Finals. I know that Duncanville was absolutely drenched while performing their water show.

  21. Area F just got cancelled. Initial indications are for it to be on Wednesday the 28th, but that's not official yet. That just leaves Area A, and they will probably be fine since they got this rain earlier in the week.
  22. Area G has now been rescheduled for Wednesday 10/28. Same venue and same schedule.
  23. The USBands San Antonio competition has been cancelled.
  24. You joke, but at 2002 State, there were a lot of storm/hurricane shows......
  25. Haha, It's a really crazy year when people can legitimately predict a winner with no captions and be taken seriously. It's mind blowing that this really could happen in 2 of the 4 TX regionals.
