Does anybody know what time finals starts?

Vandy is fantastic, as always. That opener reinforces to me, however, how much I dislike voice-overs. At least it's relatively brief.

I'm not a judge. I'm a fan of bands and, more specifically, band kids. I applaud for their dedication to such a great activity.

My personal rule is to give every performance a standing ovation. Every single one. Every competition, every round. I don't know why you would do any less.

If anyone wants a look at Vista Ridge, there is an event at Gupton Stadium this evening, 6pm. The President of the Tournament of Roses is in town to present a Rose Parade flag to the band. The Cedar Park mayor and State Rep John Bucy will be there to present proclomations to the band. And the band will do a run of the show.

I'm detecting a geographical theme to your references. 😉

I was at Vista Ridge's preview on Monday. I came away impressed in a way I do not recall feeling before. I'll put it this way: My son (who is a band alum) is about as tough a critic on his former bad as you will find. He said he got goosebumps.

This combined with the fact that we have ZERO oos bands coming to San Antonio - Very disappointing.

Vista Ridge has advanced.

My point was more that there is no way to have "millions" of people visiting the city for Fiesta at one time. But it is a fun event.

If you have millions of people visiting a city of 1.4 million people... I don't want to be anywhere near that mess. 🤣

Tonight it was announced that the Sudler Flag has been awarded to Vista Ridge! 🙂

I'm only speculating, but I am guessing it's a choice to concentrate on concert season and otherwise give the kids a break. Also, as soon as the field season is over, they begin planning for the next field season. It could also be a choice to give the staff a break and not add more on to the program demands.
