well... if you used the same drill for some of those movements that i've seen/marched... people would just plain ol give out from exhaustion.

are there any div 1 corps based in texas at ALL?

i can't figure out how to get an ensemble together, personally. any advice?

our band played the planets last year, although i wasnt there, and at every football game someone asks the director if we can play mars. we never can.

i've lost my slide in band class before. my berp was falling off my horn and i reached up to get it and my slide fell off. it was COMPLETELY mortifying because our director stopped everyone and said "how do you DO that?!!' this guy buddy has lost his slide on the field before, but he caught it. barely.

dude the reason that we trombonists havent started any threads is that: we are slackers! aren't we awesome?

I'm just super psyched for next year because our band's goal is to win state... and thus we must work very hard. YAY!

i remember at uil this year, you could not see the hashes. like... they were light blue and practically invisible. did anyone else notice that? (region 18 UIL at the palace in round rock...)

yup. leander is district champs. but we beat them at their last non-playoff game. 10-0. best football game i've ever attended. lets do it again next year, but even MORE exciting!

marching season died.

i went to the playoff game where our team played yours... and i have to say, it was really cool but some of the visuals made my head hurt. i really thought it was cool to see something different from the usual corps marching.

i think the policy for trombonists should be: is there a judge in front of you? stick a b natural in 7th in the music... and BAM out goes a judge!

I agree, after we found out we didnt make finals we were talking to some brazoswood people and they were extremely nice!

brazoswood had gorgeous sounds. the trumpet sounds *sighs* so beauuutiful!! i didnt hear that thing in reagan's show that made everyone laugh.. could someone explain it to me?

i really do admire all the bands that can move in somewhat strange capacities. i really do think its fun to watch and i like the bands that do it. I just dont think my band could really ever do that. But believe me, it was awesome to watch.

i personally do NOT understand BOA. Huge props to everyone who can dance in their show and not think it's weird. yay for state next year!

bowie's show was absolutely AMAZING!!! mucho congrats to them. we missed finals by .35 it kinda sucks, but i think it'll be good for the band program. i do not understand how winston churchhill got 6th. their colorguard was indescribable. everyone in finals did really well though.

if i had five dollars, i would bet it that mr. wessels made comments about music not being long enough. actually... i would pay him five dollars to be quiet about music not being long enough.

well i've only heard two things by samuel barber.... and I didn't know what they were about. The thing that sounded the same (this is from LD Bell 2003 and i believe westwood this year) is the drumline/tuba/brass line at the beginning of LD Bell's show and the end of Westwood(?)s

The bass trombone music is INSANE this year. Ive seen it, and i'm so glad i'm a tenor its not even funny. Our hardest etude is like half as hard as the bass tbone music.
