  1. All of CP's bands got a 1 in concert, and the top two bands got straight ones.
  2. Well all I can say is that they better paint the hashes better than they did at UIL this year. Couldnt tell where I was for the life of me.
  3. I guess it depends on their impact in the show. For instance, at BOA SA the purple things in Reagan's show didnt make a bit of sense to me. The "fireworks" in one of the shows, on the other hand, were pretty cool and a good way to complement an impact statement.
  4. Rained/stormed a bit down in Cedar Park, but nothing major.
  5. Going back to what was said before, I personally find really awesome high school groups more impressive because they don't get to pick from the best of the best. They get whatever students come to their school, and somehow get to be a really good group. Corps, on the other hand, can pick and choose the people with good attitudes, good technique, etc.
  6. So Lois from Family Guy was there in her underwear?
  7. Happy Birthday... again.
  8. OK... so I had a dream that txbands.com had a line of frozen dinners and the danpodcast was animation and claymation combined. doesn't make sense, just thought it was funny.
  9. OOH boy do i feel that pain too, but it has helped my sound a lot... It's just so lame when you're in a really good band and sound like crap.
  10. I wish yall the best of luck... hope to see you there!
  11. No, it wasnt offensive, but i just wanted to tell you in case you didnt know. I wish i had seen your band... sounds like yall are good. How did you do at 4A state last year?
  12. Um... I'm not trying to be offensive or anything, but as far as I am aware, self-hyping isn't appreciated. So I guess... try to include more than your band in postings, talk about other band's chances, etc. Also, what all competitions did yall go to? BOA?
  13. Um... whoa... are those 4A schools? Cause its a 5A state year...
  14. Don't say that... we might get called the "rowdy band from the timberland" and that would just be... bad.
  15. OH! I think what everyone thought you were trying to say is whether a show needs a slow section at all.
  16. Which areas will be really competitive next year? I'm lookin at area D mostly... but i really have no clue which so called "powerhouse" schools will be in what area. Also... do bands going to BOA GN generally try to get to state, or do they concentrate on BOA?
  17. Completely unrelated note, but I think it must have taken Holst some amazing amount of though to write it so well. Mercury EXACTLY corresponds to my thought of what the planet Mercury should be like. Not a slow song... Or a slow movement... but still cool.
  18. http://www.dci.org/news/news.cfm?news_id=5...70-fdd5abf7d79c the results are up. hopefully that link works. all i have to say is.. 1989 Phantom Regiment. WOOT!
  19. Done it. Not well, mind you, but our band has done it. Wasn't very entertaining however. Are there any videos of this show? I want to see someone do that well.
  20. those pictures are pretty hot. txbands...
  21. symphonic movement is most def my favorite. especially the low brass part in the 2nd half.
  22. Um... I know im not a trumpet player or anything... but: 1. I think its spelled egos 2. how about something like "txbands trumpets - because trumpets are just better in texas" to go along with the website slogan?
