  1. How about just a design that says txbands trumpets, instead of names. That way people who join later won't feel left out or anything.
  2. Fire of Eternal Glory - Dmitri Shostakovich slow... but an AMAZING climax. I will admit it is loud... but its hard to play that loud slowly, it takes a lot of control. Go listen to it... it's amazing. (I know its on Limewire, not sure about anything else)
  3. Um... I know the Cedar Park Symphonic Band is submitting to Midwest... is the Jazz Band submitting too?
  4. I was listening to various shows in the media section, and found that a lot have the same pieces. For instance... our opener was in Westlake '03, and our closer was Churchill '99's closer. So... is ANYTHING completely new and different in marching band?
  5. so they don't get trapped by flutes... poor old st. nick santa clause on the field! what a sight that would be
  6. i feel so bad for everyone from the woodlands, because you mainly watched the guard instead of the band. the marching looked really hard, and the forms looked good, but because of the guard it just didn't grab your attention...
  7. and spray our director with a long garden hose. 'A state year, a state year" the 5A schools shall cry
  8. i simply cant wait for band camp again long hours in the sun with little water
  9. but, for now, we speak of none. i wonder how new areas will affect competition
  10. your icon looks like bacon without ends o, how i wish talk 'bout next year was allowed...
  11. That depends on what you are basing your criteria of hard on. I personally think that Reagan's show was harder than ours (even though ours was insane, in my opinion) because they have to do many artistic/dancing type things. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to see L.D. Bell... so I honestly have no idea what your show consisted of. I'm sure it was super-hard though.
  12. if i understand your question correctly... uil categories go all the way up to 5A depending on school size. BOA categories go up to 3A... i'm not sure whether it depends on band or school size.
  13. yay for interceptions!
  14. i've run out of thyme! no cooking can i do of late

  17. once will ate it during class and put like three holes in his horn. unfortunately he also sprained his wrist... i think some kid dropped his trumpet off the stands... and aaron deyo dropped a mouthpiece and valve cover at the SAME GAME. *le sigh* *edit*^cedar park kids will know who i'm talking about ^
  18. 1. Collapse 2. Sports smash
  19. I really look forward to see what brazoswood is gonna do next year. their sound was AMAZING and i met some of their band members, who were really nice.
  20. well i think theres like this silent practice system which is basically what you've described... i have no idea where you would get it though. I'm not exactly sure that thats what its called either.
  21. I loved Simple Gifts... we played that in middle school. I also really like Lincolnshire Posy... but only the last movement.
  22. All I will say is to watch out for having a big ego. It will bite you in the butt.
