Yeah, CP was kinda at that cause we were right next to your band. We didn't mind the cheering... it was just like... we're right here! There were a few giggles among my band at Connally's show theme, but I think it was mostly at the AIM noises at the beginning... It was more "whoa... AIM theme?" giggles than "oh, it's gonna suck" giggles. All of my band spoke very complimentarily about Connally's show, especially the soloists.

Uh... Cedar Park is on there twice. =) -
So, to all you kids out there who live in other states... do yall have something like the 8 hour rule here? Here in TX, there is a rule that if you want to participate in UIL competition, you can only practice 8 hours a week plus one hour before preformances. Is there anything like that anywhere else? I'm especially interested to know if Indiana has anything like this.

Hahaha... our tuba section got called oompa loompas. Then the section leader figured out how to play the oompa loompa song... for a while they were all doing it. It was hilarious. Chickora... what do you mean "I'm finding this board so much nicer than the previous one at Cedar Park."? I'm confused... Edit: also, thank you so much for the feedback! I just really wanted to hear somebody outside the band program thought. -

Thanks! It looks like Leander is doing really well this year. Congrats to you guys... from the Westlake scores it looks like your marching and music is going really well this year. -

Yeah, CP added some body stuff to the beginning and some other parts of the show. I'm glad to hear that people are liking it... I haven't really heard many opinions on it thus far. -

About Conally's show... I couldn't hear the narration too well, being backfield, but it seemed to me like the music didn't really match with the narration at some parts. The band sounded really good, regardless. -

We have a timpani player. He was not permitted to go to this competition. I'd prefer to keep the reason for this in-house... but yeah, hes usually there, and he should be there from now on. -
This isn't really related but... OH MY GOODNESS YOUR LOW BRASS SECTION OWNS! The bass trombone and tuba solos were seriously awesome. With our band, we stand at set the whole time that results are announced, and don't cheer until after it is completely over and done with. We don't usually watch other bands preform, so the ettiquite is a little more hazy there. We try to stay pretty quiet and watch the show.

Congrats to Akins! I've heard a lot of good things about yall's show. Seguin.... I heard your pit warming up.... Chains Hang Low? wowwwww.... that made me laugh a lot. Thanks sooo much to all the bands who were cheering for us! It was really nice to go on the field and hear support for CP. I'd love to hear what yall thought of our show! Oh, whoever went on last at finals, I heard that band warming up, and yall sounded realllly good. Edit: Westwood went on last at finals. Thanks to everyone who went. I hope the organization of the contest wasn't too bad... I don't know if we realized Leander's homecoming was that night until like... that day.

Overlooked shows

I agree with this. Bell 2004 is rarely if ever talked about. I, personally, didn't like the show much... now granted, I do go to Cedar Park, but I just like the music from Bell 2002 and 2003 much better. The music just didn't grab my attention... and I've never seen a video of the show. -

At Super Regionals itself, we had a problem with the mp3 playing in the introduction to our show which messed up our preformance there considerably. Other than that, I will let someone older than me tell if they deem it appropriate. I don't want to cause any unneeded drama. -

A lot of things happened last year that shouldn't have. Things are looking like they will be better this year, but I dont want to count our chickens till late November. Hopefully the entire eggbasket won't get dropped again. -

I don't really have extensive reviews, but I really like LD Bell 2002 and 2003. Everyone I've talked to at my school thinks I'm insane for liking these shows and I don't understand why. Binary Systems is #5 on my top played list on iTunes... IDK if those shows would count as overlooked per se, but they certainly are where I live. -
