  1. I really hope they leave that trumpet solist un-mic'd. A soloist that is not 100% in your face is not only so very natural but also rewarding. Their forms are really solid for week one and the sound is mature. It's great to see them fielding a larger guard as well.

  3. I think regardless of what school hes from its no biggie, even if hes lying🤷‍♂️. Once the competitions start rolling we will see how these competitions play out and we will find out how much of the talk is accurate. As long as he isnt talking down on other bands I dont mind someone with a more bold prediction, even if I personally dont agree with what he is saying will happen. Its his opinion after all and its not the dumbest thing to hit this forum haha

    UIL 6A Area I 2025

Seven Lakes usually doesn’t perform their UIL show during football games. Instead, they do a spirit show, so we won’t see it until BOA South Houston.

  6. I don’t think you go to Emerson I think you go to reedy… all of your posts have been about reedy and your account is new.

  7. Cinco definitely improved from the last game! They just need to keep cleaning drill, I wonder when they’ll have the next part in. Also does anyone have the video for seven lakes?

  8. Are you referring to LS Argyle Reedy or Emerson? Either way, I think LS and Argyle are already confirmed top 3 and Reedy and Emerson have very slim chances of top 4 but they'll have to be above North, LT and possibly Walnut. Not impossible for either but difficult.

  9. Reedy isn't on here! I saw there show and it was amazing! Keep in mind last year they blew out LT at Wylie early in the year and barely lost to sachse. Reedy is a sleeper pick in this contest for sure

  10. I am a part of the emerson band and played Reedy this past Thursday. And OMG!!... Their band sounds and looks so goooood! If you think their crown opener was good and loud last year... well wait until you hear their opener this year. They have made so much improvement, and I wouldn't be surprised if they placed around 3rd at area this year. They are such a dark horse band

  11. I have 2 sons in the band and hope this is the year. My Senior has been so close every year. Last year one space out was a gut kick! These kids are working so hard. I feel like they are farther along than they have been at this point in years past. Can’t wait to see when they get the full show on the field.

  15. Just saw Timber Creek, kudos to the kids and staff because that’s a massive step up from last yr in music and drill demand and they’re pulling it off! Excited to continue watching them this fall

    UIL 6A Area H 2025

Stevens, Taft, and O'Connor, and Clark are all kinda at the same level. Sotomayor is still kinda establishing itself, but those kids have proven themselves. Taft has been right behind Brandeis at area the last couple of years, so I have no reason to believe it should be any different. If Brandeis truly has fallen back (which I'm not accepting at face value and I'd need evidence like a director switch), I just don't see any NISD band or Steele or Del Rio beating out LT or Westlake. It's a shame really. I'd be willing to bet Brandeis could place in the high teens at state. But better bands than them don't even make it in other areas.

  22. Heard the music for Brandies this year. It is by far the most demanding and most impressive show the school has had to date.

  23. I really don’t see Johnson above RR, Bowie, Dripping Springs or Westlake.

  24. Princeton. One of my favorite lesser known bands! They did Leander’s “Radioactive” last year and are doing another Leander remake this year! Love to see it!

    2024 Show Announcements

This. I don't think you choose a concept like Tianlong in this highly sensitive environment without really, earnestly trying to be respectful of the culture. As far as the music selections go, I'm guessing they probably saw the flying dragon in Spirited Away (which is certainly influenced by Chinese culture, just like all of Japan) and started to shape a show around it.
