Yeah, the show was fun to watch. I just get uncomfortable for some reason when the bands sing on the field! The fact it was Christmas music didn't help either.

BENTONVILLE....WOW WOW WOW!!!! 

 

I really hope we get to see them again tonight because that was INCREDIBLE!!! Soloist were just on another level, ensemble sounds were so good, and they played in tune so well, and the huge impacts were just perfect. It's not a super visually demanding show but they do execute the drill very well! Guard adds so much to this show, ballad was beautiful, please lord, please let us see this one more time, amazing job Bentonville!

It's their music that will be their detriment.

To see them again means you will not see one of the Texas bands. Be careful what you wish for.

I fear Bentonville has (deservedly!) nabbed a coveted finals slot, blocking a TX school from making it in. They have quite a cute and visually popping show with music achievement that other ‘cute’ shows lack. I’d love for them to make the pilgrimage down to San Antonio soon!

I think it's going to be a close one for some of #TeamTexas with Finals this year! 

I'd LOVE to see all of #TeamTexas in Finals, but with some of these performances, I don't know if that'll happen 🫣

Wouldn't that put them in 7th and in the bottom half presuming Avon/Carmel/Hebron/Woodlands are top 4?

Yes but I have them behind either WM or Blue springs - meaning one of them is gonna be behind Pearland

It is tremendous online as well. It checks all the required boxes. I don't like the show, but I do appreciate the high level of performance.

Carmel performed their show well. I just never connect with them. There’s also not a single caption in my personal opinion that I would give to them. They’ll do absolutely just fine here, maybe even winning, but I don’t see the Carmel appeal ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wow Carmel, I mean holy cow! It's not going to be easy for a group to top this show. Ik Avon was over them at ISSMA, but surely this isn't the same quality performance that they gave then. Execution is off the charts, love the music, not a huge fan of the design and struggle to understand/connect to the show, and honestly is why I think Hebron many slightly edge them out. And while the drill was very well executed, it felt like it was a lot of box drill/square formations, and least IMO, really will come down to the judge's thoughts/preferences, but wow that was really good, amazing job Carmel!

as a fellow ice queen i do so love Carmel lol. they NEVER sounded this good back in my day, sorry Saucedo! lol. fab overall, just some little things. not the guard's best run. hebron's music excited me more but Carmel's ballad is suuper expressive and casts a pretty big shadow.

I’m absolutely sure I’m going to end up eating my words later, but outside of that ballad, I didn’t feel like I just watched an eagle-winning show. I’m personally much more partial to their drill in 2022 and their emotional impact in 2018. Again, it’s all personal taste for me up at the top. I feel there are other top-tier groups with cleaner shows that pack a more emotional punch. All together, still an incredible show with one of the most powerful visuals of the year in that ballad!

You have to take the emotion out of your perception of them to assess them fairly. It’s tough for me to do that as well. My dad did a lot of judging and he would often tell me that he didn't like a band's performance, but they were technically superior to everyone else that day and deserved being scored accordingly.

That’s exactly what I thought. The arranger didn’t add an a lot of complicated runs and tonguing, which is refreshing. I was blown away by the sound. Everything else was great too, but doesn’t stand out as much to me.
