Popular Post Mike McBandiel Posted October 20, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 20, 2025 So unfortunately, the weather on Saturday does not look very good with heavy chances of rain which could affect and delay some area competitions this week. There is also the chance that some the competitions get moved to their respective rain dates so I made this forum for updates on if competitions get postponed in any way. Hopefully the weather isn't bad this weekend🤞 CosmicLimbo, bassboneman, WanderingTraveler and 2 others 4 1 Quote

Very high chance of rain in Lindale and Pflugerville possibility of rain in Denton and Corpus for Areas b and e but not as high. edit: very small chance in Abilene for area a. Basically all of the 4a contests could potentially be impacted. It’s going to be a miserable day J-Mike16 1 Quote
Gpk1968 Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 It really makes me mad that Lindale’s rain plan is the indoor facility. Every single other area in 4a postpones the contest. this was an issue last year as well. I found some photos online of their indoor facility. It is FAR from ideal. SETXgal 1 Quote

It’s also better than the 80% chance in Lindale for 4A Area C currently and 70% in Pflugerville for 4A Area D, those Areas may look at moving or just might do a one run setup, however it’s a little early that. Area C is Mesquite…..right now saying 80% but mainly morning. This is Texas, it will change 3-4 times between now and then! hsbandnerd212 Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 This webpage lists a table of all of the 2025 Area Contest dates/locations along with their inclement weather dates and locations: https://www.uiltexas.org/music/marching-band/area The vast majority of the contests would be in their exact same locations on their inclement weather dates, with the exception of 2A Area C, 4A Area C, and 5A Area F. The former two list the exact same location and date for their respective inclement weather backups (October 25 at Lindale High School's Indoor Field; this is also confirmed by info on the Region 21 website). I'm really not sure what kind of scheduling hijinks might happen if both the 2A Area C and 4A Area C contests are weather-delayed... Quote

Most likely, they would have a prelims only. 2A Area C is normally a Prelims only since most of the bands go to the Military State contest. hsbandnerd212 1 Quote

This is correct. 2A area C has already announced it will be prelims only. There are only 7 non-military bands and 3 advance. There’s not really a point to have prelims and finals. Quote

I think there is a rule in place that you have to have so many bands perform in Area to end up having a Finals. I know in 2A Area C there has always been an agreement on not having a Finals and calling it one and done. The same thing happened in Mineola last year when 7 schools competed at 2A Area C and 3 advanced. BandAlumMom 1 Quote

Not related to weather at all. Quote

Karma_Savior Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 This has happened on multiple occasions in the past... If an Area completes prelims and then the sky opens up and it starts to rain, they will most likely take the results of prelims as the "finals" result. JFNDOWBFAN 1 Quote
Clamp Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 I think he’s referring to the areas that are at risk of being postponed before areas even happen like take area I 6a for example there’s talk between directors and officials of postponing to Monday and not doing Saturday all together would they keep finals if they did or just do prelims BandAlumMom and Karma_Savior 2 Quote

Think bigger corner for north central Texas is even getting it started. May be a wait it out Saturday and then go late. Quote
