Those same 3-4 bands work just as hard to continually make state.

I knew someone would dissect that. I'm sorry, but I'm very much not discounting anyone (read earlier in this thread, I am a believer in this Area!)...everyone is working their booty off. Those top 3-4 bands also welcome the competition. Trust me! Very thankful in the parity of competition this year!

So far all 6a Bands from Region 9 have scored their superior ratings of 1s!! Including Klein Collins and Willis boosting the net of +2, wishing the best for the rest going on tonight

This is exciting, 6 bands will be advancing to State as all bands from Region 9 in 6A Varsity have recieved a 1st divison!!!

I watched all 6A Region 9 bands minus Oak Ridge. Prediction + some thoughts:

The Woodlands: Clear favorite in my opinion. Good amount of detail in their visual content and they execute it super well. Guard is elite. They sound excellent. 

Tomball Memorial: They could absolutely snag 2nd place at area. 

North Shore

College Park: They sound great and move at a high level, they most likely go to state.

Tomball: Yeah, I think they are that good. This area loves its train shows lol.

Oak Ridge, Klein Collins, Klein, Magnolia, Klein Oak, Grand Oaks: Each one of these groups were excellent and have a pathway to getting this final state spot. It really depends on who cleans well before area, who has a good run at area, and if anyone has a bad run (God forbid). I'm not going to bother slotting them in an order. (Also, Klein Oak mellos are playing up there! Way to go!)

Klein Cain: Great performance today. I think this area is just too competitive. Also lots of notes in that drum book, I'm a fan.

def improving. rumor is Wayne was at the contest, might help explain that a wee bit. mambo brass lick sounds better, smart to rewrite that. srsly wish they would replace the free for all jam out choreo at the end w/ something that doesn't look so overplayed and... blah!!! i hated it when Reagan did it too, circa 2000. if they're gonna do it they need the shiny pink wigs or whatever Reagan wore lolol.

aaaand yes, very very cool to see 6 spots to state.

i reeeeeaaally liked grand oaks' show the last time i saw it weeks ago, the content of it at least, perf left a lil bit to be desired. guard was the bomb tho, cant wait to see what they bring to Dayton!!

From what I can tell, they might still add a closer. Hot pink wigs would match the color palette...

Klein Collins' Waldo show is giving me life, tomball's guard is also still giving me life!!!

So apparently area is now going to be scored like state and with that in mind, I don’t know if Tomball’s show is hard enough to be up that high.

Last Friday my bud at TWHS was telling me how they were putting on their closer then, so there is more to come. My guess is just that they’re taking their time and learning meticulously, as they do have grand nats as their final destination this year

I haven't seen North Shore live, recordings look and sound great. I just feel like I can get a better read when you see a group live. They're probably getting 2nd or 3rd at area.

yesss, their goal is GN. i just think it stands to reason the kids would perform the show more confidently w/ more public performances of the whole thing under their belt. buuut if they did just learn it last Friday it's prob not great rn lol.

Well, it’s being called its own movement - 1 minute and 3 seconds of Bye Bye Blues. I like the build and vibe. It’s going to be fast-paced; and a “W”…. maybe?

Sets and tune already learned and on the field. The ENTIRE design team is in The Woodlands now through Friday to produce.  I like!!

Very good comments here.  Again, very excited about the parity this season.  Good for Area F!

Tomball's train show is cool, I agree!  

Honestly take all of those bands random number generator for those 5th and 6th spots. Ridge, Oaks, Klein Oak, Klein Collins. I am just glad we have the ability to compete for the 6th State spot this year!

The drum book comment on Klein Cain is intriguing, given how Area will be scored this year.  Its 25% of your overall score now.

Woodforest Bank Stadium is the Home Field for 4 CISD schools:  TW, CP, OR, and GO.  Area F Contest participants will find that it is a marked upgrade over the cesspool that is GP's stadium.

I think Klein Cain has a shot at that 5th/6th spot as they looked and sounded much much cleaner at region yesterday compared to Lonestar Preview.

also with new score sheets that place more emphasis on percussion, I believe that will benefit Cain as their percussion was 2nd in prelims/3rd in finals at lonestar preview.

wellll id be shocked if they miss state, regardless of whatever hate they get from ppl who don't know what they're talking about, which juuust so happens to be like 99% of band and drum corps forums ppl. haven't seen much hate tbh, besides that comment just above us hating on their stadium for some reason lol.
