Rouse was 6A from 2014-2016. I believe they were 4A before that in the old system.

Kaufman back to 4A!   5A Area C 2nd place this year and a 5A Honor Band finalist.  Submitted 1,204.

Looks like reedy will likely be staying in 5A for now.  maybe next time. Wakeland will be on the bubble for 6A and everyone else is a safe 5A lock.

Confirmed it was 6A, check the UIL Region results, Rouse was in Region 26 at the time and the UIL Records for 2014 shows Rouse as 6A:

The consensus that cutoffs will be lowered (in particular, 6A to 2,250) have come from football forums (who in my opinion are the best at guessing this stuff), and it's due to a state-wide decrease in enrollment. I have also heard lower, but I highly doubt it will go below that.

Yeah, I've been following the forums as well and in the last few days there has been talk that it may be even closer to 2200.

I definitely think the best source for anything UIL-numbers are those football forums. Classifications and realignments are basically made for them with everyone else as an afterthought…

It probably won't go any lower than 2225

If CP, Rouse and Leander all move up to 6A that would get Area H 5 state qualifiers, but those would all go to LISD bands most likely, leaving Lake Travis and Westlake on the outside looking in.  I hope if it does happen, there's some region/area rebalancing to not starve some of the other programs from those opportunities.

Vandegrift is moving down and Area H will be adding SA Southwest, SA Southwest Legacy, SA Wagner, Rouse, CP, and Leander.  That's a net gain of 5 leaving area H possibly with 25 at area so 5 to state.  Just saying.  Also, I wouldn't be too quick to assume which bands finish in which order.

Vandegrift turned in 2361 so they will stay in 6A.

during this time period do they only account for population or are they also moving schools around into different regions and areas?

Big shoutout to the football realignment community, I swear they congregate like scientists when realignment comes around so shoutout to them. Wonder if any of them have any district projections

Regardless, area H will now send 5 to state most likely.

It seems like the hardest areas are only getting harder this next batch of realignment.  Wakeland and Aledo moving up will also really throw a wrench in things. Consider that Area J already had all four bands that qualified for state make finals this go around.

All of the sports have already done this with 4A-6A having two different classifications for playoffs

That's it! I'm not predicting Area H anymore! I give up, you can't make me!  But in all seriousness next year is gonna be extremely crazy, not just for Area H but all of them.

I wonder if this forces some changes to the regions/areas as well?
