I do think were seeing a little more activity in general compared to even COVID where everyone was inside, but the bigger pages from back in the day (6A C, 6A B/H, BOA San Antonio/State) arent quite as extensive as in years past. josephbandfan 1 Quote

BandNerd07 Posted October 14, 2025 Author Posted October 14, 2025 Well it's really looking like only 3 bands are going to state out of this area as both North Crowley and Weatherford just got 2's at region. So unless 2 of Sam Houston, Bowie, or Grand Prairie somehow make it only 3 will advance and 7 finalists. JFNDOWBFAN and ChristopherRoden 2 Quote

I think Coppell and Keller are probably locks but that means that there would only be one spot between LD Bell, Timber Creek, SLC, Keller Central, etc. Quote

I was more surpised that Weatherford got 2's given how well they did at the USBands Dallas Regional, being the second band out of finals in a difficult competition. In a way it does make me wonder do the judges grade 6A bands tougher than 5A because in Region 30 all of the 5A's advance while only Boswell and Crowley advanced in 6A. Furthermore Crowley got a 2-1-1 at region. So as I said earlier 2 of SH, Bowie, and GP need to make it as well as Lamar making a back-to-back area appearence (which they should having seen their show already) to send 4 bands to state. What a bummer... Quote
Cookie_Fleck Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 I’ll tell you as a Weatherford band mom riding a very quiet bus home right now we were all quite shocked as well. SharksAreCool, Tubalord11, LostChoirGuy and 7 others 10 Quote
Fishy506 Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 What would yall put the chances of 4 bands advancing at? I still think it's possible but idk. This region desperately needs at least 4 advancing so it's a little disheartening. Quote

As of now, there are ten bands who have advanced and twelve who have not yet had their region contest (region 5 goes on Saturday). There can only be two more bands not advance to still have four make state, and the bands in region 5 are back-and-forth each year on whether or not they make it to area. Quote

Jacob2017 Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 The only 6A Band from region 5 that has not had the scores updated on the music forms website so far is Sam Houston. Every band so far has recieved their ones! Quote
BugWub24 Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 L.D. Bell maybe playing spoiler here for a state spot??? They beat Cedar Ridge at Waco Prelims, and also placed above Timber Creek. SharksAreCool and ChristopherRoden 2 Quote

This is great news! Sam Houston has finally gotten over the hump after so many years, every year they get a little bit closer but they finally did it. Nice to see Lamar qualify back to back and Bowie and Grand Prairie return to Area. I still can’t believe North Crowley and Weatherford missed it especially after seeing every typical bottom dweller qualified. That needs to be investigated IMO, not for the Region 5 bands making it but NC and Weatherford not making it. BugWub24, ChristopherRoden, RyanRaider22 and 1 other 4 Quote

Popular Post Jacob2017 Posted October 19, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 19, 2025 SGP tied with Keller Central for second place at the Duncanville Invitational tonight. So far, every competition they've been to this season, they've medaled and either placed over or tied with bands they will compete with at Area. I said it before but whatever Mrs. Ross has been feeding the kids in her program is insane. I remember competing at Area and not ever being close to Finals, but I think this year they're truly in contention for a finals spot for the first time since 2006. imhungryalot, SharksAreCool, CosmicLimbo and 1 other 4 Quote
Popular Post crunchycookie3 Posted October 19, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 19, 2025 After LDB’s unprecedentedly close finish with Cedar Ridge, this contest feels like a three horse race for the area title between Coppell, Keller, and Bell. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised to see any of them win next weekend, and I feel like all three could be in the state finals conversation in November. Super happy to hear that 4 groups will still advance! Dave609, ChristopherRoden and SharksAreCool 3 Quote
