Clements-Harmony in Haury: Love this opening dance scene with their super talented saber and flag soloist, sooo good! Really smart staging of their performers, very effectively drawing your attention to where they want it. Love the skyline tarp, add so much color to the floor. Really Great mixture of weapon work, a tad bit of dirt but definitely a really solid run, love the big heart shaped flag ending and a great performance to get us started this morning, great job Clements!

Hendrickson-Ecliptic: Really intriguing opening with the performers dashing through the hoop-shaped props as we move into some very dark colored flag work, great work soloists! Nice tempo change as we slow down and move into a more relaxed feeling with some very diligent and up-close saber work. We pick up the pace again into some very challenging saber work which leads us into some big flag work to close the show. Great design, I do wish we had a little bit more colors, it's all very dark, but still an amazing performance from Hendrickson!

Round Rock-Fanatic: Great dance opening with some great solo saber moments they killed! Love these bright-light colored flags against the purple tarp and props, great saber work going on as well as they move into a big flag moment. Really great job at expressing the theme, clear as could be. Super smart having a lot of the equipment work go with the audio, killed that super impressive rifle moment and the ending flag moment. Really like this show a lot, reminds me a little bit of Coppell last year, and they had a much cleaner run today, wonderful job Rock guard!

Allen-Autum leaves: Lovely opening with some very well together bodywork and some wonderful saber soloist! Really like the colors presented, definitely feels like a Autum show, great flag work in the middle section, and great transition into some very exposed and clean saber work. I really enjoy the number of solo moments given, and we have a slight power outage right in the middle of a big flag toss, and of course they still caught them all, great perseverance and wonderful performance Allen!

Rouse-the skies will break: Super effective opening with all the members doing some body work on the floor, almost representing clouds with their pink and white uniforms, great work saber soloist! Really love the colors, wow these girls are super good! Great presence and very little dirt, great use of the soloist at the end to distract us from the other members getting ready for a really fun big flag moment. Definitely a group to watch it for, some really good things go on at Rouse!

North Shore Senior: Beautiful opening with the flag-duet, great work you two! Some very nice choreo as we move into a big and very demanding rifle section with some great flag work going on in the background. Great usage of the heart props to stage their soloists, and the constant call back to the duet from the beginning helps the story evolve, exploring the concept of love. Great performance all around, great job NSS!

Pieper-version 3: For a school in its third year of existence, this group is super talented! Great usage of the spinning circle props to set up the two soloist who did great. Love the colors in the show, some really challenging weapon work that they absolutely nailed, great prop usage and tons of GE. The bodywork was very together, and the big flag moment at the end really brough it all together, great job Pieper!

McNeil-hang on tight: Love this fanfare feeling opener with some great bodywork, really strong saber trio, flag soloist added some very nice color with all the saber work going on! Love the constant motion of the performers moving forward and then pulling back, helps add some GE and allows the theme to flow, great flag work encircling the rifle soloists who killed it. Some big and expressive flag work to close out the show, amazing job McNeil!

Did unfortunately have to miss most of Pieper, Lockhart and Georgetown, but what I saw all three looked great! Pieper is on a role for being a 3rd year program, and G-Town is much improved form last season. Lockhart just seems so much better than what they scored, might be GE that brings them down, but their execution and demand is top tier, some really challenging stuff they make look so easy, great performances from them all!

Jack.C.Hays-Bridge: lovely opening with the members in the two bridge props with the saber soloist just showing off her talent! Great small saber group with other members doing so bodywork in the props which really adds some nice GE with all the saber work going around. Great transition into some mixed flag/rifle work, really love the colors they use. The song helps add so much to the story in which the performers convey so well throughout the performance, really great use of the props, lovely ending to bring it the bridges together, wonderful job Hays!

Winston Churchill-mom this one is for you: Just such a heart-warming show. The emotion they express just makes it every bit more emotional, not to mention they are super talented. Lovely flag work in the opening with some great rifle solos mixed in between. Such a smart design choice to hide them behind the backdrops and one-by-one come out and do some solo tosses, I swear the keep getting bigger each time they go back and come back out. Super expressive flag work to close the show, amazing job WC!

Mount Pleasent: Happy I got a second viewing of this beautiful show! Amazing work from the saber soloists to kick things off as they move into some big saber work with some beautiful flag tosses in the back. Great usage of the phone props to split the tarp in two as they bring the flags front and center. Crowd was eating this show up, so much improvement from Dallas, and just a greatly designed show performed exceptionally well, fantastic work MP!

Veterans Memorial-before the curtain: SO happy the made finals because I LOVE this show! Another power outage, please fix this lol, however they were back on before they started. Great Flag Trio as they move into full and super expressive flag work, YES rifle soloist! Using the clothe racks as a way to hide a get new equipment ready to use is so effective in not making the change distracting, and there is always either a difficult rifle passage or some beautiful flag work going on the gasp your attention from the changes, uniform change was so cool, just love everything about this show, and they are CLEAN, wonderful job VM!

Cypress Woods-my day will come: Really fun and effective dance-work to start of the show and move into some small group rifle work which they nailed! Really smart staging of the performers, having some rifle work up front on the props and really big and expressive flag work going on behind, giving you plenty to enjoy. Love the big yellow flags against the black uniforms, adds so much needed color and helps everything stand out more. SO much cleaner than yesterday, we could definitely see them move up place and score wise, though VM was also really clean, and they were neck-and-neck yesterday, will be fun to see how things shake out, but either way really strong performance from Cy-Woods, another show I dig!

Cedar Park-The ever-expanding void and all its beauty: Super smart opening with the performers circling up around the void on the tarp as to represent it, great job saber soloists! Some challenging rifle work going with their dancer doing some very impressive bodywork, super smart design choice to always have a soloist representing the void with a ton of other stuff going on simultaneously, adds so much GE and depth to the story. Big flag work was WOW, they are not messing around this season, super strong show and they are just performing it to it's max, amazing job CP!

Seven Lakes-shine: Boy do the girls shine, WHAT a performance! Great flag soloist with some very challenging chero that they nailed, as we move into some big and super expressive flag work, tosses were on point. Great staging for the rifle group split between the continuous flag work, love how each performer has a different colored uniform, my goodness the flag work in this show is unbelievable, so well-coordinated, just an outstanding performance from 7L!

Azle-bridges: Wow wow WOW Azle!!! Just sat back and enjoyed that performance, unbelievably clean! The emotion they express is just wild, GE is off the charts, I'm just blown away by what they are able to do. No drops, everything was together, such a magical performance, big things in store for this group, fantastic job Azle!

Hebron-If I only: The amount of growth they've had since last year is insane. Amazing work all around, super smart design that allows each performer to show off their talent. Love the color scene, and they do such an amazing job at conveying the story, and their flag work was SOO good, some nervous at the start but they got it together. The flame-fire flags pop so well with the black uniforms, just such an expressive show and crowd favorite, amazing work Hebron!

Pearland-once up a blue moon: Oh Pearland, yall have my heart. They will be running SA this season, and it's not close. Their passion helps bring SO much emotion to the scene, and being beyond clean helps a ton. Super smart design and staging choices to use the moon props to set up their incredible soloists to be as bright and obvious as possible, and their flag work is just unbelievable, could watch them over and over again, and I'm super excited to see how they do the rest of the season, INCREDIBLE job Pearland!!

CTJ-save me: Great dance-work, amazing job rifle soloist, killed it! Great transition into a nice rifle duet with some flag work encircling the two as we move into some mixed flag/saber work. Was worried at first we they would lack in colored flags but was proven wrong fast with the bright purple flags that look great against the black uniforms. I will admit the theme is a little hard to follow, but the team is exceptionally good, great performance from CTJ to get SO started!

Cedar Ridge- oh what a world: OH.MY.GOSH! Cedar Ridge just blew the roof off the school. I don't know why they are scoring so low, because that is show is SOO good! Such great usage of the props as entryways for the members, and the mirrored movement between the silk props just add so much cool effect. So much demand and the execution is just crazy, and super clean, amazing job CR!

Dawson-petrified: My goodness Dawson, that was incredible! Again, props to the male soloist who stays still nearly the whole show, not easy to do. Great dance duet in the opening, love the hoodies and how the use them to create a dark effect to the scene. Many tempo changes throughout, allowing for some upbeat saber/rifle work which they nailed, and slower more expressive and colorful flag work. A tad bit of dirt in the start but was clean the rest of the performance, amazing job Dawson!

Ronald Reagan-sweet of the matriarch: Saber soloist, you are SO good! Lovley dance chero and saber work surrounding the soloists as they move into some expressive flag work, the light grey pops so well against the purple uniforms and gold/black tarp. Great usage of the big gold circle prop to set up some solos/duets which the rocked! Again, massive improvement from Dallas, rifle work midway through was very clean, just a great sense of presence in this group, and the big brass audio really amplifies the performance, lovely bright orange flag work to close the show, wonderful job Reagan!

James Bowie-pawn: Super cool opening with some of the members hiding in big silk costumes as they slowly unveil themselves to move into a big and bright gold flag moment which they nailed! Tempo picks up and we move into some mixed flag/saber work, the black/white flags look so good against the orange uniforms, and they are so in time, YES rifle soloist! We slow things back down with some really impressive dance-work and then pickup the pace again. Great usage of the props to stage some difficult rifle solos, Clean is the name of the game with this group, love this show a lot, amazing job JB!

Earl Warren-life is like a dandelion: Unreal performance! Talent is soaring through this program, and minus one drop the run was flawless. I mean they crease such a big emotional presence, and it's there throughout the entire show. Great staging to set up their soloists, so much variety in movement/equipment, I mean WOW! Just sat back for this one, and I'm blown away, fantastic job EW!

Friendswood-song for you: THAT OPENING IS SO COOL! Love how they all start spread across the tarp and then come together to match bodywork on the stage-like prop. Unfortunately, not the run they were hoping for. Some pretty exposed drop in the first half rifle section, but they got it together and ended on a high note with some great big flag work that was very in-time, loved the black/white against the blue stage, and how the prop spreads out as the members move in that direction, great job Friendswood!

Westlake-this truth: WOW WOW WOW! Insane performance!!! Super smart designed opening with the members coming out from the props and from then on out it's just insane amounts of them showing of their talent. Tons of super exposed solos/duets that they killed, super expressive flag work, and the colors work so well. Another performance that's blown me away, as well as the crowd. The amount of demand from each performer requires so much, yet they make it look so easy, and that run was so clean, amazing job Westlake!

Coppell-In Fantasia: THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!!! Flag duet killed it, and using the big crystal prop to change colors when they bring out the flag is such a smart design choice. Rifle work is WOW! So much movement going along with the tosses that they just nail, really smart color selections for the second wave of flag work. Tons of effect created by each performer, and they just know how to add GE to each thing they do, fantastic performance from Coppell to finish out our SO groups!

I'm impressed by how they changed some of their show on the fly between prelims and finals. That front walkover toss after the opening ensemble rifle toss was not in the show in prelims. They had a nearby girl play substitute. The fact that they can just throw in such a difficult toss like that and have it be clean is really impressive.

Much cleaner run. Honestly, their score in prelims was also too far off the top, even with the weaker run. I just don't see a 10 point gap between them and Avon, especially taking into consideration the depth of the talent on display in TWHS. I find their show astounding.

Just say Avon with a 93...... Yeah It's gotta be just a state scoring system or something, because there is no way, even IMO Carmel being that for ahead doesn't make any sense to me. Avon obviously has the strongest show this season, but I'd imagine things will be much closer after today's run, definitely by Dayton, TW'S show is just as good as the top Indiana guards with Avon being the exception

In my opinion from the last few seasons of watching up close, I think the numbers just don’t fully mean anything until that week in Dayton- they do give some insight to where they are, but there are too many variables to compare them side by side through the season.  Until the shows are seen by the same eyes on the same day… I don’t think comparing numbers across the nation is fully accurate.  ‘22 had something special. ‘23 was great, but didn’t have that special moment to it… ‘24 I feel like it has the special piece to it that was missing last year.  If the girls can clean it up, Avon might not be catchable, but everyone else is still within reach.  No matter what-  Dayton will be so incredible to watch!!

I think TW was still scored too low, but I’m biased, and not a judge. Lol

I think they were as well.

It's true that you can't easily compare scores across the country, but with the seeding process, the expectation for WGI judges is that they take into consideration what they've already seen nationwide when assigning a score. (Obviously, that's very different from BOA, where scores are nearly meaningless when comparing across contests, besides maybe the box criteria -- but even then BOA's judges are inconsistent compared to WGI's.) Of course, with Dayton over a month away, much can change.

I'm looking at the schedule. I don't see TWHS signed up for another regional, so that 85 will be their score for seeding. It doesn't matter so much for the SW class, because there are so few guards. But it will still bug me to see TWHS possibly seeded outside the top 5 going into Dayton, because it's so divergent from my own opinion having seen almost all the guards in the class. 🤷

think they'll be fine even w/ a lowball seeding score. also think their show will look better when viewed from a higher angle.

Really liking some of the shows out west.  El Dorado is super mature, LOVE the body and rifle opening.  Arcadia is quirky but has some great moments.  Lots to like in IW too.  I think Fantasia medals.  I'm always a little iffy on no flag but it's a beautifully crafted and emotional show and reminds me of their glory days.  Vox Artium is a BLAST, the Bloody Mary flag feature is super fun.

el dorado is the real deal for sure. shouldn't have much of a problem making finals at Dayton again.
