  1. What is the woodlands’ musical selection?
  2. BOA loves a Cartwright show like Kanye loves Kanye
  3. Anyone mind sharing this Woodlands video people are watching
  4. sometimes it’s just better to not comment at all
  5. I believe the kids would say “shook” in a situation like this. Congrats to CTJ on another win. Amazing job Vista Ridge.. how insane it is to continue to watch the Leander ISD bands grow and flourish. Very excited to see how the band does this year.
  6. Similarly, I thought CTJ (while I haven’t seen it) would have GE in the bag during prelims. But then Vandegrift takes it. I think it just furthers the confirmation that nuances and “less” obvious GE scores just as much point as what meets the eye. Vandegrift proved this point last year and may be doing so again this time around. I expect to see CTJ/Vandegrift/ Leander medaling. Small spread between the 3, and smaller margin between 1st and 2nd if the splitting trend continues Whats exciting is we don’t actually know the placements from prelims, since Leander is in a different class than CTJ and Vandegrift. Anyways, here we go
  7. Retweet. Had Vandegrift with the performance and CTJ with GE
  8. Man. I can’t wait to see the CTJ show
  9. Assuming the Vandegrift show has a bit more to add?
  10. Bell ‘06 still has the best secret ending ever
  11. Very rarely do these shows appear online, so I wanted to direct the forum's attention to these. PCEP 2000 and 2001 were two phenomenal follow ups to their 1999 BOA title. I can't say I've ever quite seen a show like the either of these. 2000 for its rawness and edge (and bold message) and 2001 for its iconic design. I've been following the activity for 10+ years (not *that* long, I know lol), and this is the first time I've ever seen 2000, even after years of searchingSorry if I'm breaking a rule or anything... just wanted to share my long-awaited discovery. The kids at Plymouth-Canton really knew how to perform. Look at the individual marchers -- you'll be hard to find confidence, ownership and control like that in many other programs. 1999-2001 was undoubtedly a remarkable reign for the program. Cheers Edit: apparently I've forgotten how to properly embed
  12. "Adagio for Tron" from Tron: Legacy. Would make a brilliant pre-show. A lot of the music from the movie could sound phenomenal on the field, even without the Daft Punk flare Would be perfect for the likes of CTJ, Hebron, Vandegrift
  13. Monday night sounds miserable for something like this too, at the peak of band and grades wreaking havoc
  14. Thank you TxBands for giving me the drama and antics I didn't know I wanted.
  15. To be honest, I skimmed most of this thread. But the first thing that came to mind reading this was stories that PCEP 2000 stirred in its day (as my older brother has recounted to me). love to see a show ratchet up conversation like this
  16. Finally. The drama is here
  17. If anyone comes across a video of Johnson...
  18. where is the CTJ video everyone seems to have seen..
  19. What is the music? Have been trying to figure it out
  20. got to visit the Vandegrift vs. Cedar Park game last week and catch both bands. Vandegrift's got a whole new groove and swagger building off last year. Only marched the opener. Large, sweeping, well-written drill already being performed so well. Intense and difficult music choices (didn't recognize what they were). Big accel at the end of the closer. Remniscient of early 2000s shows (Lassiter vibes, almost, in terms of sheer power potential), yet extremely modern. Really excited to see where this goes. Cedar Park. I don't know if they got new uniforms again or a new drill writer but it almost looked as if Broken Arrow was on the field. Quite a bit of show fielded! As always, look stellar marching so early on. Classic-meets-modern vibe, but they're continuing to up their GE game. Great design. Anyways, brief notes from what I remember last week. Should be a great year for both, as always.
  21. I know this discussion always gets brought up each honor band cycle, but does anyone happen to have a stat on the number of TMEA Honor Band winners who go on to being UIL Marching champions in the same year? If memory serves right, Marcus did this 2 cycles ago. 2014 UIL 5A champions and the 2015 TMEA Honor Band Additionally, congrats to the Vandegrift program on winning this title. Have not listened to the recordings, but have heard amazing things. What a program they've got going down there in Austin!
