Would imagine d1 red will be another 3 way race between Coppell, Highland Park and Newman Smith. Hebron looks good to take marching and Vandegrift and Vista Ridge seem like good bets for d1 silver, assuming Cedar Park skips due to gnats. Look out for Plano East and Richland as well

Marching should be between Flo Mo and Hebron, the latter of which is competing stronger than they have in years. Plano sr. Could also make some noise. In ss1 silver it's looking like Richland, Plano East and the 3 LISD schools in finals. Ss1 red is looking super competitive as well, with John Horn moving down for some reason. It will be interesting to see if they are still dominant or if Coppell, Newman Smith or defending champion Highland Park will challenge them. Those 4 should appear in finals with Wylie looking like a nice bet for the 5th spot. Maybe Springtown. Ss2 silver seems especially difficult to call. Defending champion McKinney North and Liberty should do well, as should Azle.this class often sees developing drumlines ascend quickly so it's tough to predict. Ss2 red seems like Keller Central, Granbury and maybe Burleson on top. Though, again, lots of room for drumlines to grow in this class. Bishop Dunne, though not really competitive, always puts on a fantastic show. Should be a great contest this weekend

Just came from region 24 and caught my alma mater Newman Smith, who looks and sounds VERY good. I think they're a solid contender to qualify and could potentially be a dark horse for finals should they advance. And HOLY SMOKES the drumline is off the wall amazing

Having just come from region 24 uil, I think Hebron will leapfrog flower mound and take the title, with flo mo, Ronald Reagan and woodlands battling it out for the rest of the medals

Perhaps those results are in reverse order?

Really proud of Newman Smith Drumline. 1st place in Standstill II Silver with a 94.67 is HUGE, especially considering where we were my freshman year (2007) finishing 24th in D1 with a 71.38. The turn around this program has had in the last 6 years is really amazing, and something I like to think I had a part in. Way to go, guys

they're looking and sounding pretty great, and the drumline just keeps getting better and better. pretty impressive considering they've gone under major staff changes (they've had a different head band director at each of their state appearances, and nobody on this staff was there when they got 6th back in 09). proud of my alma mater. I don't think I've ever seen Cedar Park score below a 70 at any competition before this. Finalists remain the same. Interestingly, Henrdrickson and Vista Ridge who's ordinals tied also have the exact same score, placing them not far behind Dripping Springs. FINALS- 1. Dripping Springs HS- 88.42 2. The top 6 remains the same, with Newman Smith and Bridville flip flopping. McKinney misses state by half a point. Also, liberty and frisco flip flop.
