  1. at least it's in two years so it gives us a full arsenal for next season's push, our schedule next year is really stacked, as of now they won't have a saturday off for 6 straight weeks b/c they are doing a bunch of contests. although they get to do boa arlington and san antonio something that i never got to so i'm kinda jealous
  2. u mean Joshua, right? anyways, yeah that's about how i see it, birdville had the new band director this year and they picked up from where they left off in 2005 which i believe was bronze medalist. sherman is always a consistent state finalist, and aledo just made boa finals this year, and are very strong. the colony has always been very consistent but their numbers are diminishing which creates a bit of an issue. southwest, although i have never seen them maybe makes me feel they are kinda like flower mound( great concert season group but not as strong marching) don't get me wrong i'm not saying they are bad i'm just saying they are better concert wise. timberview has flipflopped a bunch w/us so we know them pretty well. as for newman smith any band that went from 5A area finalist to 4A is definately considered a legitmate contender. as for us, we'll see
  3. let's see we opened in '06 so 2006-Rhapsody in Blue (George Gershwin) 2007-Foxhunt (Rossini, Pucchini, Verdi, Mozart) 2008-The Butterfly Effect (Stravinsky, Prokfiev, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korskav) and our directors are already putting together next year's show and it sounds really awesome
  4. back off topic: Since Obama has this in the bag, where do u guys see the future of this country b/c right now it's struggling?
  5. i really respect u guys b/c while u might not have won any state championships u also have something that our band don't have but is striving for and that's a consistent state finalist, so good luck next year and remember to watch out for us at Wakeland next year(although really sad i won't be there)
  6. good job argyle i knew they were going to win they were just too strong this year, and great job to canton as well from 4th in area all the way to a bronze medalist. And congrats to all 3A bands b/c while u might not get the coverage as the 5A's we all know that u guys work just as hard as everyone else
  7. i hope u guys do well next year, and it's easy to complain about judging, but u got to take the high road and not let what judges think of u affect ur inner accomplishment. Was i disappointed when we dropped down two spots at little elm and the centennial contest, u bet. but i knew i did my best and that's all that matters
  8. wow there were a lot of really good bands that didn't make finals, like summit and legacy. in fact, i know nothing about alvin, clements, or hays but good for them and to Richland for winning
  9. thanks for comment, i personally love it when others like our show, and although our band was disappointed hearing comments like that cheer me up more than anything, and u guys did great too.
  10. alright today's the day, good luck to all bands and i hope everyone has a great show, i know i will b/c this is my last contest
  11. oh of course not surprised b/c we opened in 2006 got 2nd in 3A honor band this summer, and most recently won Denton contest
  12. sax5, u need to come out to frisco and see us (wakeland), wylie, poteet, heath, birdville, plano east, and others i mean it's going to be really fun
  13. true rowlett is one of them, but i got to say mansfield i only saw them online, but they look so strong this year compared to previous years that i was stunned
  14. i'm not in 5A so i don't know but from what i've heard u're like in the same boat as us(Frisco Wakeland), we're both young up and coming bands that has so much more to offer, we are both just beginning to blossom and i'm sure in a few years both of our schools will be competing at a high level. congratulations to ur band and i hope u enjoy the next 3 years of hs marching band career
  15. i hate u all i haven't see neither ld bell or cedar park, does anyone have a link to their video?
  16. no, we all know u guys were great, we were just saying if u are ever going to get knocked off this would have been the best chance, it was purely hypothetical. either way great job and good luck at state
  17. yeah, i always loved mansfield's guard, i think it's one of the best there is
  18. just wondering when's the last time an alternate band got to take place of a band that made state?
  19. here is what went on in area b Area B — 3A high schools Finalists Argyle Lovejoy Celina Kaufman Princeton Wills Point Decatur Ranch View Castleberry Canton Advancing to state 1.Argyle 2.Wills Point 3.Princeton 4.Canton
  20. sweet i hit finals in exactly although i don't know the order, but still no surprises in finals
  21. that's messed up, but as i said already i know this judging system will produce situations like this, so u can't do anything about it
  22. we have an actual field, so we start learning w/ poker chips
  23. i wish u and ur band the best of luck, and hope u end ur band career w/ ur best ever performance
  24. yeah i agree u have ur these top notch bands and ur finalist caliber bands and just solid first division bands
