  1. They should play at Darell K Royal Memorial Stadium, I mean who wouldn't want to perform there although I think it would be very cool for the kids to play at Cowboys Stadium
  2. Yeah the Cadets show or the Kennesaw Mtn show. To be honest I'm not a huge fan of this show, but whatever I agree they should be able to put it together.
  3. It's Arlington week!!! Everybody ready, nervous, about to vomit? Either way should be fun good luck to all the bands and hope its a great competition like it always is.
  4. WAKELAND!!! Hoping they will do well, but probably best to look for is 3rd.
  5. I'm pretty sure Wakeland has finished theirs. they usually have the whole show on by the 2nd football game.
  6. I know this is a tough question to answer, but I'm sure we've all seen a show so amazing that you just can't ever forget whether because its emotional in performance or just performed at a level that is perfection. Discuss your favorite shows and why.
  7. That's cool, I was in the Wakeland band although not this past year in which they made finals in Arlington and got 4th at state, but yeah it was nice to lay the foundation of such a great group. I agree with Cedar Park it'll be tougher for everyone, but Dripping Springs proved anyone could do it so who knows.
  8. Well its nice to meet you and to be honest I have always been a fan of you guys. In fact I remember competing against you guys back in 2007 I think at one contest. You guys beat us in that one. But yeah invite other people because the more the merrier. Btw were you at Richland one year and transferred back or something like that?
  9. I love Bell they are like my favorite band ever. Their shows are just so unique and innovative that you just can't wait to see what they do next. Personally I love the Remaining the best, but all of them have been so good.
  10. I'm sure there will be more people in this next month or so due to marching season really hitting off. As for why no one is on here its because most of us have already graduated high school and just occasionally post like myself.
  11. Wakeland Band A Slavic Farewell (Agapkin/Bourgeois) Bali (Colgrass) Festive Overture (Shostakovich/Hunsberger)
  12. http://wakelandband.com/pb/wp_277806e9/wp_277806e9.html Link about the show, it'll be interesting to say the least. It's a show within a show basically and it'll be kinda like the Cadets in 2007.
  13. Haha no I go to UT, not in band though but I do like being on this board because its quite insightful. But yeah the board is pretty good especially during marching season the admin do a good job bringing you info on all the top competitions
  14. Wakeland show for 2010 is entitled Practice makes Perfect with musical selections Salvation is Created (1912) Pavel Tchesnokov Hungarian Dance #5 in G minor (1889) Johannes Brahms Pavane in F# minor (1887) Gabriel Faur
  15. Wakeland is expected to go next year, not sure how they'll do but they most likely will go to nationals next year
  16. sidenote how did they break the tie between ld bell and marian catholic?
  17. congrats to Avon for back to back national championships, and great showing by Marcus for their first time. Also congrats to Bell, The Woodlands, and James Bowie great job representing TEXAS
  18. who made it exactly?
  19. dang no wonder bell is so good, can't believe they are at grand nationals and are still relaxed and enjoying the moment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zY4gyk16JtM
  20. oh that's not biased u guys were very good, and ur performance was simply amazing and breathtaking. U guys are so clean marching wise and great music as well. also its so nice that people like wakeland bc when wakeland first started many questioned if this program can do anything to be successful, and without a doubt hearing others to appreciate us its special. probably the biggest thing is when we first opened most of us had not know success the few non-freshmen always watched as other bands made finals and we were left out. i know i'm not there anymore but to see these guys come out of nowhere to be this successful is great for me. and definitely good luck next year hope u guys continue to stay as a powerhouse. i remember watching u guys at centennial the past couple years and i was always impressed
  21. same here i just watched their show and its really cool, and i loved marriage of figaro very cool with what u did with it. And the electronics worked really well although i've never been a big fan of narration the cadets our show 2 years ago, but what u guys did really worked well. great job and good luck next year
  22. I actually noticed that too last year at the centennial contest, our band is pretty short and when we walked by them there were some really tall people.
  23. wakeland was 3A and i think it was b/c we were already participating in varsity sports as well even though we only had grades of 9-11
  24. when i marched i never worried about placement as much as some of my friends did. I personally just tried to do my PERSONAL BEST b/c i know as an ensemble we will always have some trouble spots, and at the end u let urself decide how well u did, and if it was the best possible then who really cares if u finish in last place
