  1. yeah to be honest i really don't like our drill, we do a lot of the same things year to year. we seem to always have a follow the leader, a conveyor belt, and lots of big blocks,
  2. i'm done for the day, we are so far on schedule after eating up another 5 sets today, and b/c our band director is going back for DCI world championships as a staff member for the cadets, we have no practice tomm
  3. i remember two years ago for 3A we were at denton, got to admit area b for 3A is murder ground. our top 5 from that year got 5 of the top 9 spots
  4. yeah we really did well today, the weather really helps all of us(gives us an extra gear), so far we have finished 65 sets and 2 1/2 minutes, tomm. we're going to lay the ballad(swan lake) out. It's been tough, but we've done well, and we should have the show ready by our first game
  5. Go PHANTOM. To be honest can someone tell me when's the last time phantom has won a world championship?
  6. wakeland, frisco. we are only in our 3rd year, so we are still rather young. we recently got 2nd in 3A honor band, and this year we move to 4A
  7. i've been lucky, haven't experienced a change except adding a new one this year
  8. in general we are fine. our one weakness is that we love to have fun, and at times(like today) it gets to be too much and we had to run. Right now, we have about 30 sets(many are subsets) laid down, which is about a minute and a half. overall freshmen are a bit weaker than last year, but i'm not too worried, but our one problem is we laid down some really difficult drill for our opener, so still quite dirty. I'm really excited b/c i'm sure we'll do well, and the music is GORGEOUS, best ever. We start w/ firebird then move into that romeo and juliet piece, then ease down to the beautiful swan lake, and then comes right back hard w/ flight of the bumblebee, the n move into the nutcracker, and finish big w/ a Phantom type version of firebird.
  9. nice job by the cavailers, and looks like the fight for the title is going to be really tight. i'm not sure exactly but is next week dci championships?
  10. So I get to start fundamentals camp tomorrow , and then starting on friday we go 8 to 8 up until the last week, time for staying in the 100 plus weather for the rest of the summer
  11. looks like Phantom is catching up to cavies, and how about the Cadets, they haven't done very well in the major competitions this year
  12. might as well put this 7/25: Murfreesboro, TN 1 Blue Devils 94.475 2 The Cavaliers 93.275 3 Phantom Regiment 93.200 4 Carolina Crown 92.625 5 The Cadets 90.825 6 Bluecoats 88.200 7 Santa Clara Vanguard 87.475 8 Blue Knights 84.400
  13. for me, I have complete trust in the judges, I might not like it, but the have more experience and insight than I will ever have. And in the end, it's usually a very fair representation of the actual event.
  14. so does anyone think Blue Devils will top the number from the Cadets
  15. wow BD looks well on their way to Number 13
  16. ouch what happened to the Cadets, oh well, go Crown!!!
  17. It would be so awesome if th DM would say "This is SPARTA!!!!"
  18. so here's what I think 5th: Phantom Regiment 4th: Carolina Crown 3rd: The Cavaliers 2nd: The Cadets 1st: Blue Devils
  19. oh ok, I was about to say they scored like what the second best score in July although I for one, am rooting for Crown
  20. The Cadets: 98.700?!?!!?!?! How the heck did this happen?
  21. yep, that's whats going to happen, like I know this year a lot of 3A schools were outraged that we were still 3A b/c we had an enrollment of like 1400 about a whole freshmen class of 500 or so above the 3A cutoff. So, this year we basically monopolized everything we did. Every team except the soccer team made playoffs, a couple strong state performers both individual and team players, and some other events. So yeah, some people aren't happy, but that's the way it it. In fact, I was opposed to having all these new schools, and start in 3A for two years, but it's actually working out very well.
  22. i wonder what people think about our chances. I know that we got unanimously 1st over Argyle. I don't know that much about the other schools though. If anyone would like to tell me about the others I'll be glad to listen
  23. at least u guys aren't experiencing what Frisco High is going through, for these seniors they'll have a new head and assistant director every year of they're high school band experience. Some have already quit, and some others might quit as well. It's really tough for them. Also, I'm really sorry about that, but yeah no matter who u get I'm sure they'll do their best to make u guys the best u can be
  24. Allen High???? How cant they find a director.
