  1. Yeah, I didn't think about that. I didn't get to see their exibition performance, so my predictions might be off. But reallistically, I would have them in the top 3. Aledo and BC are for sure locks, and it's up for grabs between Richland, CH, and Azle. Really wished this area could send more bands to state as stacked as it is. Unfortunately, too many bands from Region 5 did not advance, so we will once again only see 4 bands advance.
  2. After the Birdville Marching Festival, here are my final predictions for this area: * means they competed at Birdville. Richland and Birdville will not be included since they were exhibition and didn't "compete". 1. Burleson Centennial* 2. Aledo* 3. Colleyville Heritage* 4. Azle 5. Richland 6. Midlothian 7. Birdville 8. Burleson* 9. Brewer* 10. Summit*/Timberview*
  3. YESSSSSSS!!! Finally after 2 comps finishing 2nd and not making finals at BOA Bedford, BC finally wins a comp.
  4. Okay, so I know that this area isn't that deep as the other areas, but here's my top three and going to state: Forney North Mesquite Poteet
  5. Yeah, imo yall should've made finals over Timberview, Summit, and Burleson. Wish yall the best of luck at Area!
  6. Moving on to other bands, BC beat Aledo in prelims, so they have an opportunity to win this comp and possibly win area in a few weeks. Timberview might be hungry for an area finals spot after seeing how they did today, after beating Cleburne and Joshua. Was also surprised that North Mesquite didn't make finals. I think all of the other placements met my expectations.
  7. I hate to say it, but I think Newman Smith has an unfair disadvantage due to their size. I'm also with y'all and I personally like their performance, and was disappointed to see they didn't make finals.
  8. Likely do to either being a military marching band or a non varsity band.
  9. Yeah, Duncanville is a very talented band that is one of the best in the state, but I just never really get why they don't go to that many comps, which is why I think they are underrated. They haven't been to anything yet, with BOA Prosper being their first one this year, while most other bands have been to at least 2. And it's not just this year either. Last year all they went to was USBands Burleson, where they won. Does anyone have like a backstory for Dville?
  10. For those who are wondering, I am also posting UIL region results on this page as well.
  11. As far as the schedules go, I think this is how it might look. Note that this is from the draw order, but I'm putting this as a schedule. I think there could be 5 blocks, with 7 bands in each block. 7:00. Arlington 7:15. Bell 7:30. Fossil Ridge 7:45. Duncanville 8:00. Bowie 8:15. Pearce 8:30. Grand Prairie 8:45. Judges Break 9:00. Trinity 9:15. South Grand Prairie 9:30. Southlake Carroll 9:45. Highland Park 10:00. Timber Creek 10:15. Mansfield 10:30. Weatherford 10:45. Lunch Break 11:30. MacArthur 11:45. Haltom 12:00. Berkner 12:15. Keller Central 12:30. Lake Ridge 12:45. Lake Highlands 1:00. Paschal 1:15. Judges Break 1:30. Martin 1:45. Keller 2:00. Cedar Hill 2:15. Boswell 2:30. Chisholm Trail 2:45. Coppell 3:00. Nimitz 3:15. Judges Break 3:30. Legacy 3:45. Richardson 4:00. Desoto 4:15. Waxahachie 4:30. Crowley 4:45. North Crowley 5:00. Irving
  12. I just explained it the post above. Sorry I forgot to quote it.
  13. So here is how advancement works: Area Prelims to Area Finals If there are less than 10 bands that qualify for area, there is only one round. If 10 to 19 bands qualify for area, the top 7 bands move to finals. If there are 20 to 29 bands that qualify, the top 10 bands move to finals. If there are 30 or more bands (in this case we have 35), the top 12 bands move to finals Area Finals to State If there are less than 15 bands that qualify for area, the top 2 bands will advance to state. Once you hit 15 bands, then one band per every 5 bands will advance to state (ex: 15-19 bands = 3 state bands, 20-24 bands = 4 state bands, etc). In this case we have 35 bands that will qualify for area, so if you do the math, we will have 7 bands advance to state this year.
  14. Here's my updated predictions on every placement this year now that we have an idea on who's going to be here: Coppell Timber Creek Waxahachie Bell Keller Southlake Carroll Duncanville Keller Central Berkner Lake Ridge Lake Highlands Haltom Fossil Ridge Boswell Highland Park Trinity North Crowley J.J. Pearce Mansfield Martin Chisholm Trail Paschal Legacy Richardson Weatherford Arlington South Grand Prairie Crowley Nimitz Cedar Hill Bowie Desoto MacArthur Irving Grand Prairie
  15. Region 20 is complete. All 6A bands except Skyline made 1's. We will indeed have 7 state spots considering Keller ISD and Region 31 get all 1's.
  16. The performance schedule will be posted after all regions in Area B have already had their contest. The last one is Region 31, which happens on 10/17.
  17. Well, Desoto got 1's now. Giving that the other Irving ISD bands got 1's, it's safe to say that Nimitz probably will too. And Lake Highlands and Duncanville is basically a guarantee. So it's safe to say that we WILL send 7 bands to state, and possibly the only area in 6A (maybe in TX) that sends 7 bands to state.
  18. Yes you are correct. So here's the bands that did not qualify; Lamar - 2 Sam Houston - 3 Skyline - 2 So that means, if ANY more band out of this entire area get less than a 1, we will only send 6 bands to state. Please it's really up to the rest of region 20 if we get that. 🙏🙏🙏
  19. Yeah, okay I get what you're saying. I just saw that Timber Creek beat Keller without actually studying the scores from this year and the years prior. I have observed that Keller usually has a slow start to the season, but later on they prove themselves for the better. Can't wait to see what they can pull off at GNats. I still do see them as finalists there.
  20. So I just now realize that all Region 20 bands, with the exception of Skyline, made straight 1's at UIL Region last year. If this year will be a repeat of last year, then we can see 7 bands advance to state.
  21. Southwest got a 1 rating last night, which brings the total count to 16.
  22. Update: Cedar Hill got a 1 rating last night. This brings our total number of bands at area to 15, with 2 bands not qualifying. Ultimately, it's gonna be up to Region 20 ,which happens today, if we send 7 bands to state this year. Region 31 and Keller ISD is solid, not worried about them at all.
  23. What do y'all think of any of the Crowley bands?
