  1. Well, it appears that Southwest is no longer going here. I guess they have fully committed to going to HEB instead.
  2. Yeah, saw them last week too. Me personally, I liked them better than Braswell at the Saginaw comp last week.
  3. Yes, definitely. Also here's a fun fact: this is the largest USBands event in the entire nation, with 29 bands. It is unbelievable how rapid this contest is growing when we only started this comp just last year with only 11 bands, so every band made finals. From what I've heard, the directors of the bands that attended last year loved it so much, that they shared the word which led to this being the largest USBands event in the nation!
  4. Yeah, I realized I messed up. I underestimated how good Eaton really was. After just now watching their show from last year, I can say they indeed are a lock, probably even top 5.
  5. My bad, o forgot about them. Well I guess that makes 12 then.
  6. Okay, so here the thing as we get closer to the day of this contest. This is going to be the biggest comp (at least in DFW) this week. Though it might not have as many state tier bands like HEB or Wylie, it is definitely going to be a fun show. I think bands like Southlake, Lewisville, Pearce, and Centennial are secure in finals, it is going to be a be a war for these bands to get into finals: Mansfield Summit North Forney North Crowley Cleburne Everman Midlothian Heritage Ryan Timberview Burleson Crowley So there ya go, 11 potential finalists, but only 8 of these are actually going to make it. Lmk what yall think this comp might look like this Saturday.
  7. So going back to what I said earlier, the spreadsheet will be changed, so the contest schedule would be deleted, and in it's place would be the results for that contest. I've already completed BOA Austin, so you can view that for reference.
  8. Prelims Results Group I: 1st - Godley HS Group II: 1st - Lamar HS 2nd - Troy HS 3rd - Grandview HS 4th - Lake Worth HS Group III: 1st - Cleburne HS 2nd - Midlothian Heritage 3rd - Everman HS 4th - North Crowley HS 5th - Castleberry HS 6th - Springtown HS Group IV: 1st - Burleson Centennial HS 2nd - John Horn HS Group V: 1st - Braswell HS 2nd - Saginaw HS Finals Schedule 7:30 - Godley HS 7:45 - Lamar HS 8:00 - North Crowley HS 8:15 - Everman HS 8:30 - Saginaw HS 8:45 - BREAK 9:00 - Midlothian Heritage HS 9:15 - John Horn HS 9:30 - Cleburne HS 9:45 - Burleson Centennial HS 10:00 - Braswell HS
  9. Next up, we had Burleson Centennial. After their run, this is easily my favorite band of today. Their shoe title was Breakaway and they had insane percussion, woodwind, and brass features. They are a lock for finals.
  10. So a few comments from the bands that I heard today. Starting with John Horn, they had a killer saxophone soloist and they had ladders as props, but the wind knocked several of them down, affecting their drill. Let's just see if this costs them a finals spot.
  11. So I know that this contest isn't really talked about as much as BOA Austin, but I will be posting frequently as I am a member of a band that is attending here. I obviously won't see every single band because of that, but I'll try to get to as many as I can.
  12. Okay I will probably do that tonight. I'm actually on a way to a game right now so it's kinda hard to do that on a phone. I'm considering also adding UIL Region contests here as well, but I'm not sure if I will.
  13. Well, now with less than 24 hours away from contest season, all contests for tomorrow have schedules on the spreadsheet. I will also post the results on the spreadsheet as well as they become available.
  14. So we are now only 6 days away from contest season in Texas. I have not forgotten about this page and as we get closer to that time of the season, I am going to be updating this page more frequently than I have been. So I should at least be done finalizing the Sept. 23 contests by the end of tonight.
  15. Oh, yeah, 2021 was definitely a mess. My band used to go to this competition every year since 2015, but after 2021 (my freshman year) we stopped coming here, likely because of the poor judging.
  16. Well, it looks like this will be a small contest again, and there's no class D this year. I seriously wonder what was up in 2019/2021. This used to be a big comp back then. Not even Summit, an MISD school is attending this year.
  17. Here's the schedule for this contest. Now with that being said, here's my predictions: 1st. North Crowley HS 2nd. Creekview HS 3rd. Canton HS 4th. Weatherford HS 5th. China Spring HS 6th. Arlington Heights HS 7th. Kennedale HS 8th. Gatesville HS 9th. Castleberry HS 10th. Maypearl HS
  18. SHEESH!!! That is an EARLY performance for Lovejoy. I wonder how this will affect them from taking the class AA champion title and being in finals exhibition.
  19. So I feel like not a lot of people really dig deep into this contest as really only the state level bands are talked about so I decided to make an early season prediction of the placements. I'll update and make some changes here and there, and then I'll make a final prediction, probably the week before area. 1. Coppell 2. Waxahachie 3. Keller 4. Bell 5. Duncanville 6. Lake Ridge 7. Timber Creek 8. Southlake Carroll 9. Keller Central 10. Martin 11. Haltom 12. Lake Highlands 13. Berkner 14. Highland Park 15. Boswell 16. Trinity 17. Pearce 18. North Crowley 19. Fossil Ridge 20. Mansfield 21. Chisholm Trail 22. Legacy 23. Nimitz 24. Richardson 25. South Grand Prairie 26. Crowley 27. Arlington 28. Paschal 29. Lamar 30. Weatherford 31. Irving 32. MacArthur 33. DeSoto 34 Cedar Hill 35. Skyline 36. Bowie 37. Sam Houston 38. Grand Prairie Note that this is EVERY band in area B. We won't know exactly who will all be in this contest until Region results come out.
  20. Yeah I agree with you for the most part. I'd say Coppell, Keller and Waxahachie are locks, and it's between Duncanville, Southlake Carroll, Lake Ridge, Keller Central, Timber Creek and LD Bell for the other spots. But I really hope Lake Ridge makes it this year because they are the only band in this list that has not made state in 6A yet.
  21. The schedule for this contest has now been posted.
  22. My early predictions for here: 1. Marcus 2. Keller 3. Wakeland 4. Timber Creek 5. Keller Central 6. Aledo 7. Forney 8. James Martin 9. Haltom 10. Azle 11. Boswell 12. Fossil Ridge I believe there are 12 finalists because it's been like that foor years at this point. Anyway, this list was extremely hard to make and all of these bands are talented, but unfortunately there will be some finals-worthy bands that won't make it. This is kind of like a pre-BOA since DFW happens the following week, and this comp has BOA style judging as well. So I think the results will give us an idea on how DFW goes because most of them will be back the next week.
  23. Yes this is a one round contest. In USBands, showcases and clinics are one round only, and regionals and championships are prelims/finals, so this will be a one round contest.
